This update brings major reliability improvements and a few thoughtful new touches. Sleep & wake-up timers Gentle wake-up fade now works correctly when your screen is off — previously the fade could freeze and audio would keep playing. Sleep timer is more reliable under heavy system load, so it fires close to the time you set. Your timer length and gentle wake-up settings are now remembered between launches — no more reconfiguring every night. Added a fade duration picker (30 / 60 / 90 / 120 seconds) for gentle wake-up. Audio quality Fixed a bug where stopping playback during a fade could leave your mixer sliders stuck at low volumes the next time you opened the app. Audio chains now rebuild correctly when switching between speaker, AirPods, and Bluetooth devices — no more thin or metallic reverb on 48 kHz outputs. Added headroom to prevent harsh clipping when all three mixer sliders are pushed to maximum. Smoother fades — eliminated a small click that could occur if you adjusted a slider mid-fade. Driftless now gently ducks other audio when it starts, instead of competing with it. When you stop Driftless, other audio apps (Spotify, Apple Music, podcasts) will now resume automatically. Siri & Shortcuts Premium sounds are now properly gated behind your subscription when launched via Siri or Shortcuts. Siri intents handle the "app not running" case more gracefully and no longer lose sleep sessions. Sleep log & home screen Sleep timer countdown is now visible on the home card, not just inside the player sheet. Lock-screen artwork renders faster and uses three distinct wave colors. This update simplifies Driftless. The Explore tab, Sleep Stories, Guided Relaxation, and Sleep Affirmations have been removed. The app now has three tabs: Home, Sleep Log, and Profile. Your soundscapes, mixer, sleep timer, and sleep history are all exactly where you left them.
