ON-DEVICE TRANSCRIPTION
Speech recognition is forced to run on-device, with no online fallback. Recording requires on-device recognition support for your device and selected language. If that support is unavailable, recording does not start. Each new recording is limited to five minutes.
YOUR NOTES, YOUR FILES
Export an idea as Markdown, TXT or JSON. Save or share the exported file yourself; IdeaMic does not automatically sync with or connect to a third-party notes app.
LOCAL STORAGE AND BACKUP
Recordings, transcripts and history are stored locally and excluded from the system iCloud device backup. Data leaves IdeaMic only when you explicitly export, back up or share it to Files or another app. Complete .ideamicbackup files contain text and original recordings and are not password-encrypted.
