I was hesitant about this app thinking it might be like others where all the information or at least all the good information would be behind a paywall. But a lot of it you can access without signing up for a subscription which is super nice. I’m not a huge fan of AI but in a world where finding a career is this difficult it’s honestly so worth it. the AI it uses is written very well, and asked a lot of questions I didn’t even think would be relevant but ended up helping me figure out what I wanted. It also gave me a few job positions that might be compatible with me, which was nice. I believe if you do pay for it, you’ll get more in depth help and guidance, which can be super useful especially if you’re just starting out in your career. Ultimately it was nice to hear about things I can do to get me in the right direction, and it also helped give me ideas on how I can improve my resume. Definitely give it a shot, it’s worth the time
I needed this app 10 years ago!!

This app is brilliant. This is what I’ve been missing while navigating my career for years. I’ve DIY’ed my way through work. I’ve worked harder, not smarter. No one in my family or friends growing up or colleagues in school “knew” the secrets behind work. Erin’s content has helped upskill me, and this app is the icing on the cake. The fact it knows my industry, helps me articulate my strengths and pivot my mindsets while also making me a strategic plan… it’s amazing. It’s not easy to explain what I do for my job, especially in a succinct way, and this app does it for me. My job as a service designer can have a dozen different titles and each title can mean something different at every company… plus my industry is rapidly changing. It’s not easy to articulate and strategize when it’s that complex!I just got started down a career path and I’m already so hooked and ready to keep using it. I’ve wanted to switch jobs for years but didn’t know how to make the leap, but this app is giving me the confidence and the tools to help make it happen. Thank you for making this app!
Bugs Undermine Purpose

The AI used is kinda bad. It really gets stuck on really specific things and goes around in circles with the questions (question a about what you want to do, I say idk that’s literally why I’m here, question b asking about interests, I tell it, question c acknowledging that then asking what I want to do again). This alone leads to skewed profiles because it doesn’t get a big picture, has to be forced to move on, and clear has some kind of struggle with comprehension. Additionally, uploading your resume is useless because it is not used to help assess your skills and former work. The AI asks no questions about it and doesn’t use it for any kind of context. It also clearly isn’t considered when making your profile. This leads to more skewing and tons of blind spots giving an inaccurate view. I shouldn’t have to restate a bunch of information I’ve already given in a chat to have it included in the assessment. This app is marketed as helping you find your niche and not force you down paths like most people do, but by not including information and only looking at certain aspects it doesn’t the opposite.
Really great - one flaw though

I was lucky to receive an early trial of StupidFish and immediately realized how beneficial the app would be in understanding how to diversify my thinking when it came to my interests and skills! I was starting to get worried about the state of the job market and StupidFish immediately put me at ease - understanding that there were multiple areas I could be looking if I needed to because my skills were transferable. That kind of knowledge and framing is invaluable! There’s one glaring issue though - with the jobs portion I’m either never getting it to load or realizing all the jobs are outdated when I click on the external link. Definitely use this for all its features but be aware that it may not provide the most accurate job data!
