ComicSpinnah is a native macOS app for reading, editing, and writing metadata for your digital comic collection. Built for collectors who care about having their CBZ files tagged correctly — without wrestling with outdated tools or Python scripts.
Tag Your Collection
Open any CBZ file and edit all standard ComicInfo.xml fields directly. Series, issue number, year, publisher, writer, artist, summary — everything a properly tagged comic needs. Save changes back to the file with one click.
Comic Vine Integration
Connect your personal Comic Vine API key and let ComicSpinnah do the heavy lifting. Search fires automatically when you open a file, scores volume candidates intelligently, and selects the right issue for you. Browse the full paginated issue list, preview covers, and apply metadata in seconds.
Auto-Match
Running a batch? Auto-Match searches Comic Vine for every selected file, scores each match by confidence, and presents a side-by-side cover comparison so you can review before applying. High-confidence matches can be accepted in bulk. Lower-confidence files queue up for guided manual review — one file at a time, with Prev/Next navigation.
Batch Everything
Open an entire folder recursively, tag hundreds of files, and rename them all using a configurable template. Tokens like {series}, {issue}, and {year} let you build exactly the filename format you want. Preview renames before committing. Conflict-safe — no accidental overwrites.
