I have an older iPhone 11 Pro Max (with a small amount of RAM) and the smaller Nano model works great. It uses Google BERT as the LLM and it was able to handle several questions & scenarios offline (airplane mode) very well. It has good mathematical & reasoning skills and also has good historical knowledge (of famous people and events). The nano model works great for lower-end phones & hardware while the larger model does even better. Highly recommended.
