This update improves BiteMark’s reliability and performance. Map pins, city selection, list maps, and guide maps now behave correctly. Following and profile activity are faster, and photo and upload flows are more reliable.

Security and reliability update: strengthened account/session protection and backend access controls, improved maps, bottom sheets, city selection, photo uploads, and following feed reliability, added user rating badges to restaurant cards with clean whole-number scores, and updated the app foundation to Expo SDK 56.

Discover A richer mix to scroll through instead of the same card on repeat. New "Most Saved This Month" and "New This Week" show what your city is into right now. Featured Guides get a bigger, magazine-style cover. Lists Collapse any section on your Lists tab to cut the scroll. Anyone on a shared list can now invite others, not just the owner. Profile Tap a stat card — Visited, Need to Try, or Favorites — to open those restaurants (they used to lead nowhere). Your title also properly displays on your own profile now. Reliability Much steadier on a weak or spotty connection — slow requests fail fast and retry instead of spinning forever, and content reloads on its own once you're back in range.

Collaborate on lists: Invite friends with a link and build a list together. See who's on each list with collaborator avatars, and find everything you've been invited to in a new "Shared with Me" section. Owners send and revoke invites; collaborators can leave anytime. Notifications: A new bell on your Home screen shows new followers, list invites, and people joining lists you own — with a dot when there's something unread.

Discover, rebuilt around cities Pick a city from the header and Discover reshuffles around it — a featured curator on top, popular guides near that city, and the people worth following in your area. Three templates for guide creators Ranked is the ordered list you already know. Editorial is a cover-story layout — hero photo per spot, your commentary, a "Photo by" credit, and a highlight tagline. Map-first lays numbered pins on a map; tap one for a quick preview. Editorial creators can attach their own photo to each spot. Maps that don't flicker Pins on Discover no longer flicker when you pan or zoom. A new branded green pin shows up everywhere. Tap any pin to open a bottom-sheet preview card — the old callout bubble is gone, and the stars in the preview are yellow now, matching cards everywhere else.
