Desti is where you rank the places you have been, save where you want to go, and find your next trip through people whose taste actually matches yours.
Star ratings flatten everything. Two places you loved both get five stars, and a stranger's average tells you nothing. Desti asks a simpler question instead: which of these two did you like more?
RANK THE WORLD
Add a place you have visited and choose a tier: you liked it, it was fine, or you did not like it. Then desti shows you two places at a time and you pick the one you liked more. A few taps and your list orders itself, with a 0 to 10 score on every place. You never pick the number. Your comparisons do. They stay inside the tier you chose, so a place you loved never goes up against one you did not.
Cities, destinations, and national, state, and provincial parks all rank in the same list, where a park you loved can outrank a world capital.
REMEMBER THE TRIP
Every place you rank keeps the whole trip with it: when you went, trip tags like Food, Beach, Hiking, Nightlife, or Road Trip, and a rough budget. Add your pros and cons, the top spots you would tell a friend about, and up to 10 photos with captions. Tag the friends who were there with you. Years from now, it is all still here, not buried in a camera roll.
SAVE WHERE YOU WANT TO GO
Keep a Want to go list for everything still ahead of you. See a place in an Instagram Reel or a TikTok? Share the post straight into desti and it saves to that place, instead of vanishing into a folder you will never scroll back through. When you finally plan the trip, the video that started it is waiting for you on the place's page.
FOLLOW PEOPLE, NOT ALGORITHMS
Follow friends and the travelers you trust, and your feed fills with the places they just ranked. Every profile shows a Taste Match percentage: how closely your scores agree on the places you have both been. A high Taste Match means their 9 is probably your 9. Like their trips. See their maps and their full ranked lists.
EXPLORE THAT LEARNS FROM YOU
The Explore tab builds recommendations from your own rankings and from travelers whose scores line up with yours. Rows for "Travelers like you", "Hidden gems", "Seasonal picks", and "Because you love Food", plus a daily pick. Every card tells you why it is there. Filter by trip type, budget, and country, or flip between cities and parks. Not for you? Hide it and it will not come back. The more you rank, the sharper it gets.
SEE IT ON A MAP
Your Been map, your Want to go map, and your friends' places, all pinned and color-coded by score. Every place page shows a community score, the trip types people go there for, what travelers say about it, and a row of similar places.
COLLECT THE STAMPS
Ranking places earns you points and moves you up the Journey ladder, from Wanderer to Circumnavigator. Stamp your way through 50 states, all 7 continents, 20 parks, islands, mountains, beaches, food cities and more, then see where you land on the Explorer Leaderboard.
WHAT desti IS NOT
No endless reviews from strangers. Just the people you actually trust, and the places you actually went.

Find trips from your photos
desti can now find the places you've been from your camera roll, so you don't have to remember everywhere you went. Tap "Rank" on Home and allow access to your photos. It all happens on your phone: desti reads only the location tag saved on a photo, and no photo is ever sent to desti unless you choose to add one to a ranking or your profile. When you do add photos to a ranking, desti shows you the ones you already have from that place.
Plan a group trip
Tap "Plan a group trip" on your profile, add the friends you're traveling with, and desti finds the places the whole group would like, plus everywhere you've all saved to your Want to go lists. Can't decide? Spin the wheel and let it pick.
