Live Chart with Adjustable Time Window
Watch your heart rate trend unfold in a smooth, real-time line chart. Choose from seven time windows — 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 45, or 60 minutes — to zoom in on an interval or review the full arc of a long workout. Average BPM, peak BPM, sample count, and a running session timer update live alongside the chart.
5 Training Zones
HeartTrackPro automatically calculates your five training zones based on your maximum heart rate and highlights which zone you're currently in:
• Zone 1 (50–60%) — Warm-up
• Zone 2 (60–70%) — Fat Burn
• Zone 3 (70–80%) — Aerobic
• Zone 4 (80–90%) — Threshold
• Zone 5 (90–100%) — Max Effort
Set your max HR by entering your age (using the standard 220 − age formula) or enter a known value manually from a lab or field test.
Pause & Resume Recording
Life happens mid-workout. Pause a session without losing your data, then resume exactly where you left off.

Pick Your Polar Monitor From a List
Searching for a Polar H10 or Verity Sense matched on the advertised device name and connected to the first match found. If your strap advertised a slightly different name, or if there were multiple Polar devices nearby, the scan could silently skip the one you wanted with no way to intervene.
Polar searches now show a full device list, the same way the generic Bluetooth monitor option has always worked. Choose the strap you want and the app remembers it. The next search reconnects silently, with no list to tap through. If the remembered strap does not respond within eight seconds, the picker comes back.
Device Picker Shows What Can Actually Be Connected
Previously, a monitor that could not be connected to looked identical to one that could. Tapping it did nothing, or hung until the attempt timed out.
A strap bonded to another phone or watch broadcasts that it is not accepting connections. Those are now greyed out and labeled "Not accepting connections." A strap that stops advertising -- switched off or out of range -- is greyed out and labeled "Out of range" after ten seconds of silence. Both stay in the list rather than disappearing, so a device you know is nearby does not look missing. It is there, with a reason.
Try Every Feature in Your First Five Sessions
Segment types, CSV export, training insights, and the Dynamic Island display mode are all available from the moment you install the app. Individual features had been gated on top of the recording limit, which made no practical difference -- without the ability to record past five sessions, the locked features had nothing to act on. Now you can experience the full app before deciding whether to upgrade. Pro unlocks unlimited recordings.
Segment Numbers Fixed
When segment types were introduced, segments added on the free tier were tagged "Other," which replaced the numbered chart marker with the Other icon and caused history rows to read "Segment 1 - Other" instead of just "Segment 1." Free-tier segments are now tagged Numbered, so chart markers and history rows look exactly as they did before segment types existed.
Legacy segments -- ones recorded before types existed, or imported from a CSV exported before types existed -- are also resolved to Numbered rather than Other.
Generic Bluetooth Monitor Renamed
The device option previously called "Coospo H808S" is now called "Generic Heart Rate Monitor." It connects through the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service and works with any strap that implements it -- Coospo, Wahoo, Garmin, Magene, and similar. Naming it after one model made it look like only that model was supported.
Cleaner Button Shapes
The time window buttons above the heart rate chart (1m, 5m, 10m) were fully rounded pills. They are now rounded rectangles with softened corners, matching the style of the app's full-width action buttons. The connection status badge and the Unlock chip on the upgrade banner follow the same shape.
Thank you for using HeartTrack Pro. If the app helps your training, a review on the App Store goes a long way.

Version 1.0.12
New Coospo H808S Support
HeartTrack Pro now works with the Coospo H808S chest strap, alongside the Polar H10 and Polar Verity Sense. Just choose Coospo H808S from the monitor list in Settings and your live heart rate flows straight into the same chart, heart rate zones, recording, and Live Activity you already know.
Pick Your Device From a List
Finding a Bluetooth strap is now simple. Tap Search for Device and HeartTrack Pro shows every nearby heart rate monitor, along with its signal strength and whether it is already connected to your phone. Choose your strap once and you are connected. The app even finds monitors that are already paired in your iPhone Bluetooth settings, which a normal scan would miss.
Remembered Device, No Picker Every Time
After you pick a device, HeartTrack Pro remembers it. The next time you tap Search, it reconnects to that strap automatically with no list to tap through. If your saved device cannot be found, because it was removed, replaced, or is turned off, the picker comes back so you can choose another. It stays out of your way when everything is normal and helps only when it needs to.
Clearer Dual Bluetooth Status
The Bluetooth section in Settings now reflects what each monitor can do. Polar sensors keep the on and off switch you can change. The Coospo H808S shows dual Bluetooth as always on, because this strap can send to this app and another device at the same time with nothing to set up.
Spanish Improvements
All of the new screens and messages are fully translated in Spanish, and we fixed a small translation in the heart rate zones.
Thank you for using HeartTrack Pro. If you enjoy the app, please leave a review. Your feedback helps us keep improving.

SEGMENT TYPES (PRO)
Segments can now be tagged with an activity type, so every part of your workout is easy to read at a glance.
- A new type picker sits right next to the Add Segment button. Tap it to choose from the list, where each option shows an icon and its name. When closed, it collapses to just the icon of the type you picked.
- When you add a segment, it is tagged with the selected type, and the marker on your chart shows that type's icon.
- Prefer the original plain numbering? Choose the Numbered type and your markers show a running number (1, 2, 3 and so on), exactly like before.
- Your last used type is remembered between sessions.
Available types:
- Numbered (classic running numbers)
- Running / Walking
- Cycling
- Rowing
- Elliptical
- Stair Climber
- HIIT
- Strength Training
- Circuit Training
- Stretching / Mobility
- Sports
- Other
DEFAULT SEGMENT TYPE (PRO)
Set the type each recording starts with, so you do not have to pick it every time.
- A new Default Segment Type picker lives in Settings under Recording Defaults, next to the Show Segment Button toggle.
- Every new recording begins tagged with your chosen default.
- You can still change the type during a recording using the dropdown by the Segment button. That only affects the current session and does not change your default.
SEGMENT TYPES IN HISTORY, EXPORT, AND IMPORT
- History: each segment now lists its number and type together, for example Segment 1, Cycling, along with the type icon. Segments using the Numbered type simply read Segment 1, Segment 2, and so on.
- Charts: markers in your saved sessions show the type icon, or the number for the Numbered type.
- Export: the segment type is included in your CSV export.
- Import: segment types are read back when importing a CSV. Older files without a type import cleanly and default to Other.
FREE AND PRO
- Choosing a segment type is a Pro feature. Free users can still add segments, and the type picker appears for Pro users.
- The type picker follows the same show and hide rule as the Segment button. Hide the Segment button in Settings and the picker is hidden with it.
NOTES
- Your existing sessions and segments are fully preserved on update. No action is needed.
Thank you for using HeartTrack Pro. If you have feedback or run into any issues, we would love to hear from you.
1.0.11 Aug 13
DUAL BLUETOOTH CONNECTION
Your Polar H10 and Verity Sense can each talk to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, and now you can control that right from HeartTrack Pro.
- A new Allow Two Bluetooth Connections toggle appears in Settings under Bluetooth whenever you are connected to a supported sensor (Polar H10 or Verity Sense).
- Turn it on to pair your sensor with a second device at the same time, for example HeartTrack Pro plus a bike computer or a piece of gym equipment.
- Turn it off to use a single connection and save battery when you only track with one device.
- The current state is read live from your sensor when you open Settings, and any change is written straight to the device.
Good to know: your sensor supports two connections total, which means HeartTrack Pro plus one other device. A third device cannot connect until one disconnects. Because this is stored on the sensor itself, the setting stays in effect in other apps too.
DYNAMIC ISLAND IMPROVEMENTS (PRO)
We refined the live heart rate display that appears in the iPhone Dynamic Island while you record with the app in the background.
- Your BPM in the compact slot. When another app shares the Dynamic Island and only a small space is available, HeartTrack Pro now shows your live heart rate number, or your zone level if you prefer, instead of just a heart icon. You always see real data at a glance.
- Instant dismissal. The live display now disappears the moment you stop a recording, rather than lingering afterward.
- Cleaner layout. The expanded view now sizes and spaces the heart rate and zone readouts so everything fits correctly on all supported devices, with a clear label beneath each value on both sides.
- Automatic cleanup. If the app is force quit in the middle of a session, any leftover Dynamic Island display is cleared automatically the next time you open the app, so you never see a frozen reading.
As a reminder, the Dynamic Island live activity and its display options are part of HeartTrack Pro.
GENERAL
- Stability and reliability improvements throughout the recording and connection flow.
Thank you for using HeartTrack Pro. If you have feedback or run into any issues, we would love to hear from you.
1.0.10 Aug 6
Version 1.0.9 - Dynamic Island Live Activity (Pro)
HeartTrack Pro now keeps your heart rate visible in the iPhone Dynamic Island while you train with the app in the background or minimized. No need to return to the app to check your numbers.
WHAT YOU SEE IN THE DYNAMIC ISLAND
Compact view (always visible while recording):
A heart icon on the left, colored by your current training zone. On the right, your live BPM or current zone level - your choice.
Expanded view (long-press the Dynamic Island):
Your full live BPM in large text, current zone label, percentage of your max heart rate, and a sparkline chart of your last 20 readings - all updated in real time.
Minimal view (when another app also has a Live Activity):
A small heart icon or zone number, colored by zone, so you always know where you stand.
Lock Screen:
After your session ends, a summary stays on your Lock Screen for 5 minutes showing your final BPM, zone, sparkline chart, and device name - great for a quick post-workout glance without unlocking your phone.
Paused state:
When you pause a recording, the Dynamic Island icon switches to a pause symbol and turns yellow so you know at a glance that the session is on hold.
Zone colors match what you see inside the app: blue for Zone 1 through red for Zone 5.
Requires iPhone 14 Pro or later for the Dynamic Island. On earlier supported devices, a Lock Screen banner is shown instead.
DISPLAY PREFERENCE (Pro)
A new setting under Settings - Dynamic Island lets you choose what appears in the compact trailing slot:
- Heart Rate (BPM): shows your live beats per minute as a number.
- Zone Level: shows your current training zone as Z1 through Z5.
The preference takes effect on your next recording. It cannot be changed while a session is in progress.
This feature is exclusive to HeartTrack Pro.
1.0.9 Jul 24
TRAINING INSIGHTS (PRO)
A new Insights screen gives you a long-term view of your fitness. Tap the trend chart icon on the main screen to see:
• Weekly Training Load — bars per calendar week using Edwards TRIMP (time in each heart rate zone, weighted by intensity), with a 4-week average reference line.
• Heart Rate Recovery — your biggest 60-second BPM drop per session, plotted over time. Larger drops reflect better cardiovascular fitness.
• Average Session HR — per-session average BPM to help you spot rising intensity or creeping fatigue.
• Summary cards for This Week's load, 4-Week Average, Best Recovery in the past 30 days, and total sessions analyzed.
Analysis runs in the background and updates automatically. Insights is a Pro feature — free users see the icon with an Unlock Pro option.
MULTI-SELECT ZIP EXPORT
Export multiple sessions at once from the History screen. Tap Select, choose your sessions (or tap Select All), then Export. The app bundles every selected session into a single dated ZIP file and opens the iOS share sheet. A "Preparing ZIP…" spinner keeps the screen responsive while the file is built. After sharing, you can choose to delete the exported sessions from the app — a "Deleting Sessions…" overlay keeps you informed while it runs.
ZIP & MULTI-FILE IMPORT
The import picker now accepts multiple CSVs and ZIP files in one pick. Select individual CSVs, a ZIP containing multiple sessions, or both at once. All files are processed in a single pass with a live "Importing N of M…" progress overlay. ZIPs created by HeartTrack Pro can be re-imported directly — making it easy to move data to a new device or restore a backup.
PURCHASES IN SETTINGS
A new Purchases section in Settings shows your Pro status at a glance. Restore a previous purchase directly from Settings without hunting for the paywall — a spinner shows while the restore runs, with clear messaging if no purchase is found.
BUG FIXES
• Live chart Y-axis: High BPM readings no longer get clipped when they exceed the chart's initial scale. The axis now always includes the current live reading.
• Live chart start: Fixed a vertical spike to zero that appeared at the beginning of recordings. The chart now waits for a valid heart rate reading before drawing, and the Y-axis auto-scales to your actual BPM range instead of anchoring at zero.
1.0.7 Jul 13
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Heart Rate Chart — Fixed Live BPM Display
We fixed an issue where the live heart rate chart would clip or hide your current BPM reading when it exceeded the visible range of the chart. For example, if your heart rate spiked to 136 BPM during an intense workout, the chart line would get stuck at the top of the grid — showing only up to 125 BPM — while your actual reading was cut off above the chart boundary.
What was happening: The chart's Y-axis scale was calculated based only on the historical data already saved to the session. If a new live reading arrived slightly before the chart had time to record it, the scale wouldn't account for that new peak — leaving your most recent (and often most important) data point invisible or clipped.
What we fixed: The chart now always includes your current live heart rate reading when calculating the Y-axis range. This means the chart scale expands instantly to accommodate whatever your heart rate is doing right now — whether you're pushing into a new personal best or recovering back to a resting range. The line will always be visible, always in proportion, and always accurate.
This fix is especially noticeable during high-intensity intervals, warm-up spikes, or any moment where your heart rate changes quickly. No more wondering why the chart isn't reflecting what the number at the top of the screen says.
General Stability
We've continued improving the reliability of the heart rate recording pipeline. Segment markers, chart rendering, and session data persistence have all received under-the-hood attention based on real-world usage patterns.
Thank You
HeartTrackPro is built around one goal: giving you the clearest, most accurate picture of your heart during every workout. Every bug report and piece of feedback helps make that picture sharper. Keep it coming — we're listening.
1.0.6 Jul 7
Segment Markers - Reliable Saving
Segment markers now save to your session history the moment you tap the button. In previous versions, segments were saved in a batch when you stopped recording. If a recording was interrupted or the app closed unexpectedly, your markers could be lost. That is now fixed. Every tap is saved immediately and permanently to the session.
Segments in CSV Exports
When you export a session to CSV, your segment markers are now included. A dedicated column shows the timestamp of each marker, so you can cross-reference your segments with the heart rate data in any spreadsheet or analysis tool.
Show or Hide the Segment Button
A new toggle in Settings lets you control whether the segment button appears during recording. It is on by default, so if you use segments regularly, nothing changes for you. If you prefer a cleaner recording interface, turn it off and the button stays hidden until you choose to show it again. The preference is saved and applied every time you open the app.
Chart Display - Segment Circles Fixed
Two chart display bugs with segment markers have been fixed in this release.
The first bug caused segment circles to pile up at the left edge of the live chart. As time scrolled forward during a recording session, older segment markers would move off the left side of the visible window. Instead of disappearing, their numbered circles would stay pinned to the chart boundary and stack on top of each other. Segment markers now disappear completely when they scroll out of the visible window, keeping the chart clean.
The second bug caused segment circles to be cut off at the chart boundary when a marker was recorded near the start of the visible window. The circle now shifts slightly inward so the full numbered badge is always visible.
Chart Time Window Preference Saved
Your preferred chart time window is now remembered between sessions. If you set the chart to show 2 minutes of data, that setting is restored the next time you open the app. You no longer need to re-apply it each session. The chart also updates immediately when you change the time window during a recording.
Stability and Data Improvements
Several improvements have been made to the underlying data layer.
The SwiftData model relationships between sessions and segment markers have been updated with explicit configuration to ensure compatibility with newer versions of iOS, preventing potential schema validation issues during app updates.
The database recovery process has been improved. When the app needs to reset a corrupted database, it now also removes the associated write-ahead log and shared memory files. Leaving those files behind could previously cause a recovery to fail silently. The recovery is now complete and reliable.
Error handling during app startup has also been strengthened. If a database issue cannot be recovered automatically, the app now provides clearer diagnostic information to help identify the cause.
Together these changes make HeartTrackPro more stable, ensure your session data and segment markers are always saved correctly, and improve overall reliability across all supported iOS versions.
1.0.5 Jun 15
HeartTrackPro 1.0.4 brings two highly requested features: a configurable default chart window and a powerful new session segmentation system. Both are designed around how real athletes train — with structure, precision, and the need to review performance at the interval level, not just the session level.
Default Chart Window Setting
Every athlete works differently. Some want a wide view across an hour of data to track the full arc of a long training run; others prefer a tight one-minute window for real-time precision during intense interval work. Until now, HeartTrackPro always opened the heart rate chart in a fixed 5-minute view — a reasonable starting point, but not the right fit for every training style or workout type.
In 1.0.4, a new Recording Defaults section in Settings gives you full control over your starting view. Choose your preferred default chart window from seven options:
• 1 minute: real-time precision, ideal for high-intensity interval work
• 5 minutes: the previous default and a solid all-around choice
• 10 minutes: great for tempo runs and structured interval blocks
• 20 minutes: a natural fit for steady-state aerobic sessions
• 30 minutes: longer endurance training and zone 2 runs
• 45 minutes: extended threshold efforts or race-pace workouts
• 1 hour: a full-session overview for long training days
Your selection is saved automatically and applied every time the app launches. And if you change your mind while a session is already underway? Updating the setting in Settings takes effect on the live chart immediately and dynamically — no restart required and no interruption to your ongoing recording.
Session Segment Markers
This is the headline feature of 1.0.4. HeartTrackPro now supports session segmentation — a way to mark meaningful moments during a live recording and then analyze the heart rate data for each interval independently, both visually and statistically.
While a recording is active, an orange Add Segment button appears between the heart rate chart and the HR Zones panel. Tap it once to drop a numbered marker at that exact moment in time. Tap again to add another. There is no limit — mark every interval, every lap, every set, or every climb. Each segment appears instantly on the live chart as a dashed vertical orange line with a numbered circle at the top. The markers scroll alongside the incoming heart rate data so you always have a clear sense of where you are relative to your planned splits.
After you stop the recording, your segments are saved to the session permanently and will always be there when you review it later. Open any segmented session from the History screen and you will find two new elements.
First, segment markers appear directly on the heart rate chart — the same dashed orange vertical lines with numbered circles, now anchored to the precise moments you placed them during the session. This gives you an immediate visual picture of how your heart rate responded and recovered across each individual interval.
Second, a Segments card appears below the chart. It breaks the full session into intervals and shows per-interval statistics for each one: the elapsed time range, the duration of that interval, your average BPM across it, and your peak BPM within it. The final stretch after your last segment marker is shown with a checkered flag icon, representing the remainder of the session through to the end.
CSV Export and Import
Segments are fully supported in HeartTrackPro's CSV export and import pipelines. Each segment is written as a clearly labeled metadata line in the exported file and is restored in full when the file is imported, bringing back the chart markers and all per-interval statistics exactly as they appeared in the original session. The round-trip is completely lossless, so your analysis data is never locked inside the app.
Existing sessions from earlier versions of HeartTrackPro are completely unaffected by this update.
1.0.4 Jun 3
HEART RATE CHART FIX
The live heart rate chart now scrolls correctly — the most recent data
always appears on the right, with older data trailing off to the left.
This matches the natural way you'd expect a live chart to read and makes
it much easier to follow your heart rate in real time.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS
General speed improvements throughout the app for a smoother experience.
