Version 4.0 • A new look, in Day and Night. Choose one under Theme in Settings, or let Updesh follow your iPhone. • New Sadhana tab: Gita-inspired bhajans and aartis with their lyrics, and calm music for work, prayer, study, rest and sleep. • Read meanings in 13 languages, now including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Portuguese, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. Swedish meanings are no longer available; the app itself is still in Swedish. • Chapters is now Read. It opens on all eighteen chapters, with Continue reading, Reading history and Search close at hand. • Today's verse now lives in the Home Screen widget, which follows Day and Night too. • Reading options are now on every reading page. • Report a mistake from any verse, and send us feedback from Settings. • Soft background music while Updesh is open. Version 3.1 • A warm, natural voice now reads each meaning in English, Hindi, German, Swedish, and Spanish, straight after the Sanskrit. Once heard, a verse plays offline. • Follow along: the word being recited glows gold in the Sanskrit and the meaning, and the page keeps both in view. • Updesh now speaks Hindi, German, Swedish, and Spanish, following your iPhone's language. Change it in Settings under App language. • Home Screen widgets show the full verse and its meaning. • A cleaner player and tab bar, smoother chapter listening, and illustrations that fade softly into the page. • Italian and Russian meanings have been retired. If you used them, Updesh now shows English; choose another language anytime in Settings.

Version 3.0 introduces an illustrated dark reading experience, new chapter artwork and matching widgets. Enjoy meanings and word meanings in seven languages, an updated Sanskrit recitation collection, gentle chapter and verse announcements, and spoken meanings using your device’s installed voices. Widgets follow your reading preferences. This update also improves text accuracy, playback, and language-aware search. Optional usage analytics remain under your control in Settings.

This update improves the accuracy and clarity of selected English and Hindi verse translations, corrects verse alignment and word meanings, and removes reading annotations from the Sanskrit display. Search has been refreshed to reflect the corrected text.

Updesh 2.0 is a calmer, more focused way to return to the Gita each day. This update introduces a redesigned Today screen with one teaching at the center, combining Sanskrit, translation, audio, chanting controls, and reflection in a single daily practice. Reflections now has its own space for notes, diary entries, and weekly practice history. The Gita tab has also been refreshed with richer chapter artwork, clearer progress language, and an easier continue- reading flow. Daily reminders now open today’s teaching more reliably, and settings sync has been clarified. Your existing bookmarks, notes, and reading progress remain exactly where you left them.
