Pocket money made simple. Set an allowance, split it into Save, Spend and Give, and let your kids watch it grow. No bank, no cards, no ads. Free for one child.
AllowanceKit is a virtual allowance tracker that helps families teach kids about money — without the complexity of real bank accounts or debit cards.
SET IT AND FORGET IT
Enter your child's allowance amount, pick a schedule (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), and AllowanceKit deposits it automatically. Even catches up if you forget to open the app.
SAVE, SPEND, GIVE
Split every deposit into custom buckets. Teach your kids the basics of budgeting without a single lecture. Rename buckets, adjust percentages, or add new ones to match your family's values.
KID'S OWN VIEW
Kids check their balance on their own device or the family iPad. Big, friendly numbers. Read-only access. Optional passcodes keep siblings out.
VIRTUAL TRACKING ONLY
AllowanceKit is a ledger, not a bank. No bank connections, no card numbers, no real money moves through the app. You handle the cash, we handle the math.
SYNCS EVERYWHERE
iCloud keeps everything in sync across all your devices. Add money on your iPhone, and it shows up on the family iPad instantly.
TRULY PRIVATE
All data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. No servers, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. We literally cannot see your data.
FREE VS PREMIUM
• Free: 1 child, up to 3 buckets, all core features
• Premium ($7.99 one-time): Unlimited children, unlimited buckets, savings goals, child device locking, overspending
No subscriptions. No recurring fees. Ever.
This App claims it makes automatic deposits, but it does not. The website has a FAQ which confirms they know they are lying in app description and on front page of their site. Developer is on Reddit downvoting against this, claiming it’s an “education tool only” (not mentioned) and they have unique interpretation of what “deposits automatically” means.
Developer Response
Thank you for your feedback. We understand the confusion.AllowanceKit is a tracking tool, not a bank. When we say "deposits automatically," we mean the app automatically credits your child's virtual balance on schedule. No real money moves through the app. This is stated across our website:- Security page: "AllowanceKit tracks virtual allowance balances. No bank accounts, credit cards, or real money flows through the app."- Support FAQ: "AllowanceKit is a tracking tool, not a bank or payment service. It keeps a virtual ledger of how much your child has earned and spent. The actual money stays with you."- Home page features section: Describes it as a way to "teach your kids the basics of budgeting without a single lecture."We've since updated our homepage to make the virtual tracking nature clearer upfront. We apologize if our original wording was misleading — that wasn't our intent.
• Fixed: allowances sometimes didn't arrive on the day they were due. AllowanceKit was only checking when it started up fresh, so if you reopened it from the background the payment sat waiting. It now checks every time you open the app.
• Changing a child's allowance day applies straight away, instead of waiting until the next time you open the app.
