Gloss Cards

Spaced Repetition Flashcards

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

You already know thousands of words in your native language. Gloss helps you build that same effortless recall in any new language, without grinding through boring study sessions. Most language apps overwhelm you with gamified fluff. Gloss cuts straight to what actually works: spaced repetition, backed by memory science, in an app that feels good to use every day. Gloss uses the FSRS algorithm, the same science behind the most effective memorization systems in the world. It learns how your memory works and schedules each review at exactly the right moment. You study less, but remember more. Type in a topic like "French restaurant vocabulary" or "JLPT N5 verbs" and AI builds a ready-to-study deck instantly. Or create your own cards exactly the way you want them. Tap any card to hear it spoken with natural pronunciation. Slow it down when you need to. Speed it up when you're ready. Your ear gets trained alongside your memory. Set a daily goal. Watch your streak grow. Open your analytics and see real progress, not just points, but cards mastered and vocabulary retained over weeks and months. Organize decks into collections however makes sense to you. By language, by class, by trip, by textbook chapter. Gloss adapts to how you learn, not the other way around. Supports 30+ languages including French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese, and Italian. The free plan gives you everything you need to get going. When you're hooked, upgrade to Pro for unlimited cards, unlimited decks, and AI card generation. Stop forgetting what you study. Start building vocabulary that sticks.
