Make a book for your child with Pip. Pip writes it draws them in ink, reads them, and moves it.
Screens weren't made for tiny eyes. We tried to make one that is.
PaperTaps is a calm picture book with sound for children aged 1 to 7. Every page is warm ink on paper: one picture, a few words, and a gentle voice that reads them. No bright colours, nothing flashing, no ads.
WHY IT LOOKS LIKE PAPER
• Inspired by E-Ink readers, and designed to be gentle on young eyes.
• Warm cream paper and soft ink. No pure white, no neon, no flashing.
• Readable even at 5% screen brightness, so you can turn the screen right down.
Typical kids' apps are built to capture attention. PaperTaps is built to deserve it.
TAP, LISTEN, TRACE
• Tap a picture to hear it: real animal sounds, and a recorded voice that reads the words aloud.
• Hold a picture to trace it with a finger, or draw your own.
• Guess together: "Who is this?" Tap to reveal. Nothing listens, scores or records.
• Nineteen shelves: animals, vehicles, dinosaurs, birds, sea creatures, space, ABC, numbers and more.
BOOKS YOU MAKE WITH PIP
Make a book about your child's world: their dog, their day, their teddy. Tell Pip what it's about, and Pip writes the pages, draws each one in the same ink style, and reads it aloud. A picture can even move: a small, slow loop while the page is read, then it rests.
Making books is for grown-ups. It needs a parent sign-in and an internet connection, and Pip's pictures use credits.
A VISIT CAN END
• Every shelf ends with a goodbye, not an endless feed.
• Choose how many cards a visit shows.
• Set a daily limit from 15 to 60 minutes. When time's up, Pip falls asleep, and only your PIN opens it again.
• Settings and purchases sit behind a grown-up check.
• Bedtime mode switches to dark, warm paper for evening reading.
FREE AND PRO
Animals is free, always, with its sounds and voice built in. Every other shelf shows a few cards for free.
PaperTaps Pro is a monthly subscription. It opens every shelf, lets your child trace any card, opens all your saved drawings so you can print or share them, and adds credits every month for Pip's pictures. Credit packs are also available.
OFFLINE AND PRIVACY
Animals works offline from the first launch. Other shelves download once, then work offline too.
No ads, no microphone, and your child never signs in. When you make a book, the words you type and any photo or drawing you add are sent to our AI providers to create the pages. The privacy policy has the details.
