AuroraPulse has been rebuilt from the ground up. • A real map with the live auroral oval from NOAA's OVATION model • Every screen now runs on live NOAA data, refreshed every 5 minutes • Your chance of seeing the aurora now accounts for cloud and daylight • Alerts set up in one tap, tuned to your latitude • Tap the Kp dial for a plain-language guide to every number • Widgets that refresh on their own and can follow a saved place • Community sightings share only an approximate location, never a photo

Network resilience with exponential backoff retry Auto-refresh every 5 minutes with proper background lifecycle Stale data indicators showing when forecast is outdated Error handling with user-facing CloudKit messages Community voting conflict resolution

Improved aurora forecasting with better location tracking and real-time geomagnetic data.

• Smarter cloud cover — now measures low-altitude clouds only, so high cirrus no longer makes clear skies look fully overcast. • Evening aurora notifications — the nightly forecast now arrives at 7pm local time with tonight's best viewing window, not in the middle of the night. • New imminent peak alert — opt in from Settings to get pinged 30 minutes before peak Kp. • Location-aware storm impact — every G-scale alert now shows what it means for your latitude: "No impact", "+X% chance" or "Makes aurora visible". • Forecast chart overhaul — clear NOW marker, past vs future shading, and a fix for a data bug that was silently collapsing bars onto a single point. • Map now auto-centers on your location the moment it's ready. • Dozens of small reliability fixes: date parsing across all NOAA endpoints, faster-failing NASA requests, modernized to iOS 26 MapKit geocoding, automatic cache invalidation to prevent stale data.

New in 1.1: • Space Weather tab — real-time solar flare classification, coronal mass ejection tracking, sunspot cycle monitoring, and NOAA G-scale storm alerts • 27-day aurora outlook calendar — plan your aurora-chasing trips with a color-coded Kp forecast grid • Destination search — check aurora visibility for any city worldwide with cloud cover forecast • Storm notifications — tiered, location-aware alerts for G1-G5 geomagnetic storms and incoming CMEs • Expanded Watch app — new Solar tab with alert badges and flare status on your wrist • Large widget — 7-day Kp outlook bar chart with alert indicator • Offline support — intelligent caching serves data even without connectivity • Improved reliability — defensive parsing handles API format changes gracefully
