Cue the Music Man is an iOS app that creates personalized 40-track playlists from a user’s typed prompt, an Imported markdown, text, or CSV tracklist, or a Shazam-identified song. Users can preview tracks, edit and reorder playlists, and save playlists to their Apple Music or Youtube Music library. The app uses Apple Music and Gemini to generate playlist recommendations and manage music-related features.

1.3.0 Aug 1
Cue the Music Man can now turn a playlist file into an Apple Music playlist.
Added playlist file import from the Chat tab
Import Markdown, text, or CSV tracklists
This update makes it easier to bring an existing tracklist into Cue and turn it into a real playlist with less friction.
1.2.6 Jul 29
Improved playlist scrolling performance, especially while preview playback is active. Track preview progress is now updated more efficiently so browsing long playlists feels smoother and more responsive.
1.2.5 Jun 4
Cue the Music Man just got better at building playlists from a vibe.
This update adds smarter “similar songs” handling, richer song suggestions, smoother add-song search, preview playback in more places, and cleaner playlist export behavior. We also tightened up music-provider settings and improved YouTube export reliability while quota limits are being sorted out.
1.2.4 May 23
This update makes playlist editing smoother and smarter.
You can now add songs faster with automatic Apple Music search as you type, preview tracks directly from search and suggestion results, and scrub through previews before adding them. The Add Song sheet now also opens with playlist-based suggestions, giving you fresh songs that fit the vibe without needing to search first.
We also improved similar song recommendations so they feel more varied, with fewer repeated artists and better playlist-fit results.
1.2.3 May 23
A bit of order for the chaos. We finally hooked up the plumbing to let you modify your existing playlists right inside the app.
Playlist Modification: You can now actively update your playlists instead of just spinning up new ones.
Partial Playlists: Tamed the firehose. The app now handles partial playlist loading so things stay snappy without eating your entire data plan.
Under the Hood: Tightened up the remote configurations. Things should fetch cleaner, load faster, and generally misbehave less (hopefully).
1.2.2 May 21
Cue now supports exporting playlists to YouTube Music, alongside Apple Music.
This update adds linked account management for Apple Music and YouTube Music, remembers your YouTube sign-in between sessions, and restores synced playlists from iCloud when sync is enabled. YouTube Music exports now include custom Cue-branded playlist images, handle missing or unmatched tracks more gracefully, and run faster with parallel track lookups.
Also included: improved YouTube retry handling, clearer export feedback when tracks are skipped, and fixes for a few generation edge cases where prompt text or cancelled Apple Music lookups could interfere with playlist creation.
1.2.1 May 13
Adds YouTube Music as a playlist destination.
You can now choose your active music provider in Settings, link YouTube Music, and save generated playlists to either Apple Music or YouTube Music. YouTube exports now handle partial matches more gracefully, keep going when a track can’t be found, and show which songs were skipped after export.
1.2.0 May 12
This update smooths out a few important details.
* Preview scrubbing on iPhone now keeps playing after you drag
* Settings got a small layout polish
* Added support for the optional Help improve Cue improvement program
1.1.2 Apr 28
This update makes Apple Music setup clearer and more reliable, especially when Apple still needs an extra privacy acknowledgement or account sign-in before search and export can work.
We also added behind-the-scenes improvements to AI model routing so Cue can stay relevant as models change over time.
1.1.1 Apr 27
Cue 1.1.0 adds a more immersive experience and smarter playlist generation.
What’s new:
Added support for Apple Vision Pro, including an immersive waveform visualizer.
Improved song matching so generated playlists find better Apple Music results.
Improved playlist detail and sharing experiences.
Updated onboarding with clearer age and Terms of Use confirmation.
Added general polish, reliability improvements, and bug fixes.
1.1.0 Apr 23
MusicMan now does a much better job matching generated playlists to Apple Music.
We improved song matching for tricky cases like punctuation differences, split/joined words, alternate title formatting, and compilation-only releases. Matching is now smarter about things like & vs and, and deluxe/live/remix title variants, which means more tracks resolve correctly and fewer good matches get dropped as ambiguous.

What’s New in This Version
Cue 1.0.6 is faster on its feet. Playlist generation now feels snappier, smoother, and more responsive, with a better generation flow from first prompt to finished mix.
This update also improves iCloud playlist sync, sharpens reliability around Gemini-powered generation, and includes a round of polish and stability fixes across the app.
1.0.6 Apr 15
This release, we make saved playlists more durable with optional iCloud sync, so your library can follow you across reinstalls when you want it to. Very nice! We also added clearer sync controls in Settings, including the ability to turn iCloud sync off and delete synced playlist data separately. We updated the privacy policy as well, to reflect this.
This update also improves reliability around generation limits and includes under-the-hood fixes for persistence, privacy controls, and overall app stability.
1.0.5 Apr 13
Cue feels sharper, smoother, and a little more alive in 1.0.4. We polished the chat experience, improved playlist sharing, and added a richer generation flow so creating something great feels faster and more fun.
This update also includes visual refinements and behind-the-scenes fixes to make the app more reliable while you build, remix, and share playlists.
1.0.4 Apr 11
Cue got a little more sharper. In a good way.
Sharing is smoother now: short links are more reliable, imported playlists are handled more intentionally, and the share cards do a better job of looking like something you’d actually want to post. We also made sure the artwork collage pulls from real album art instead of a generic link.
Under the hood, this release hardens the whole share flow, tightens playlist import safety, and cleans up a bunch of small edges so the app feels more buttoned-up.
