Improved images: animated GIFs now play, more accurate text wrapping, alt text and hyperlinks, layering, and you can drag a floating image across pages. Resizing a floating image now sticks and the image toolbar stays responsive. Find now searches footnotes. Word and OpenDocument files preserve more on open and save, including endnotes, table captions, ODT footnotes and bookmarks, inline formatting, and numbered lists. Track changes undo has been completely overhauled. Deleting tracked text, accepting changes, rejecting changes, and bulk accept/reject all now register properly with the undo system. Previously, some revision operations bypassed Cmd+Z entirely. You can now drag document files (.docx, .odt, .rtf, .txt, .md, and more) from Finder directly onto a Verso window to open them. Previously, only image drops were supported. The font size field in the toolbar no longer sits slightly higher than adjacent controls. A height alignment issue between the combo box and popup button pickers has been corrected.

Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where some customers were incorrectly shown a "no license found" message after purchasing Verso. Your purchase is now recognized immediately. Text expanders (Typinator, Alfred, macOS text replacements) no longer accidentally trigger Markdown shortcut conversion. The text width setting in No-Paper Mode now correctly persists after restarting the app.

No-paper mode now lets you choose your preferred text width: Narrow, Medium, or Wide. The text area centers on screen with comfortable padding, giving you a clean writing surface without page boundaries. Improved purchase restore flow: Restore Purchases now shows progress, checks locally first (often skipping the password prompt entirely), and always gives clear feedback if no purchase is found.

Word documents with headers and footers now display them correctly - Bug fixes Page theme colors now apply consistently to footnote backgrounds and header/footer overlays, so everything matches when using Dark, Sepia, or other page themes.

No-Paper Mode: Write without page boundaries. Switch to a continuous scrolling view for distraction-free drafting. Toggle it from View > No-Paper Mode or in Settings > Editor. Bug fixes and performance improvements including faster mode switching on large documents and improved table rendering.

License persistence - purchase now survives app restart. Previously the unlock status reset on every launch; now it's saved to disk immediately and restored on startup. Citation/Zotero - Zotero dialog no longer appears when Zotero is already running, citations with author names no longer crash, and parsing handles more edge cases gracefully. File open performance - fixed a 21-second hang on document open (reported on M4 Pro) by switching to progressive page layout.
