YOUR CALENDAR CONTENT STAYS BETWEEN YOUR MAC AND GOOGLE
hora syncs your calendar directly with Google Calendar and stores sign-in tokens in macOS Keychain. Calendar event content is not routed through hora’s push service.
The push service uses account, device, and calendar identifiers to notify your Mac when changes are available. Product analytics and diagnostics help improve hora, while purchase information is processed to manage access. These records can be linked to your account.
See our Privacy Policy for details about the data involved and how it is used.
Full access requires an in-app purchase. Available plans and pricing are shown in the app.

Maciej,You have created an app that fills the gap between Google and Apple as far as native-like calendars go! Fortunately, I was able to use hora Calendar on TestFlight for about a month or so before purchasing the lifetime sub and it has been truly amazing. hora Calendar and Mimestream are two apps that really compliment each other and I can appreciate that you have mentioned Mimestream on your website as an inspiration. I also appreciate the local storage aspect of the app, as privacy is something everyone should appreciate! Great job and I look forward to seeing how this app progresses!
Developer Response Dear Mac_OSX,Thanks for your kind words. It’s only beginning and it’ll be only better :)

Quick Add understands dates, times, and guests written in Russian and Danish.
Improved
Join buttons in the menu bar are easier to read and never wrap onto a second line. The menu bar event list now ends on a whole event instead of a half-cut one.
Fixed
English text no longer appears in other languages in Share Availability, AI refine, Quick Add status, placeholders, and titles, the Focus Time editor, and the event popover.

1.2.2 Oct 14
Hora 1.2.1
Create and manage calendars without leaving Hora, read text more comfortably, and find invitations sent to alternate email addresses.
New
Create calendars in Hora. Select the plus button next to an account in the sidebar or choose File, New Calendar. Name the calendar, choose a color, and add it directly to your Google account.
On Mac, delete calendars you own or change their colors from the sidebar menu.
Add alternate email addresses in Settings, Accounts. This is useful for addresses people still use to invite you, such as a Gmail address from before you moved to Google Workspace. Invitations sent to those addresses appear in your inbox, and your response is sent from the correct account.
Choose the new Huge text size, or adjust text from the View, Text Size menu with Bigger, Smaller, and Default Size options.
Improved
Text size settings now apply throughout Hora, including event details, the event editor, task popovers, search results, the mini calendar, and sidebar badges.
The New Event and Edit Event windows now open at the size their content needs. They expand when you show more options instead of always opening at full height.
Calendars hidden in Google Calendar now appear in Settings, making it easy to show them in Hora.
The menu bar date now follows your regional format, such as 10/12 in the United States.
Two digit dates in the Dock icon are now centered and easier to read.
Direct edition prices now appear in your local currency, matching the checkout total.
Fixed
Calendars containing imported events, such as sports schedules, no longer appear empty when an event includes a guest without an email address.
1.2.1 Oct 12
Hora 1.2.0 fixes a syncing issue introduced in version 1.1.9.
Syncing on Mac is now more reliable and responsive. Hora no longer freezes for up to one minute while syncing.
1.2.0 Oct 9
This update makes hora Calendar feel more like a native Mac calendar.
The calendar sidebar is easier to scan and use, with larger rows, clearer section headers, a quieter selection state, and the ability to collapse a section by clicking anywhere on its header.
You can now drag accounts to reorder them, instead of rearranging only the calendars within each account.
Invitations are easier to manage with separate New and Ignored tabs. Response buttons now fit comfortably in narrow sidebars.
Settings now use the standard Mac preferences toolbar, making options faster to find.
The menu bar icon displays today's date at a glance. While hora Calendar is running, its Dock icon also shows today's date. Disable this in Settings, General.
The mini calendar's previous month button works again.
Event details open faster, and the widget resize handle in the right sidebar is simpler to use.
Lifetime access is available again. Pay once by choosing a lifetime plan during onboarding or from the in-app paywall.
After updating, hora Calendar shows the latest changes from this App Store listing and makes it easy to leave a review.
1.1.9 Oct 8
This update makes everyday planning more reliable and easier to manage.
Create events again by dragging or double clicking in Day and Week views on macOS 15.
Change an event's calendar in the editor and see it move to the correct calendar immediately.

Respond to recurring invitations for a single event or the full series. The Edit option is hidden when you do not have permission to change the meeting.
Keep task dates on the correct day when traveling or working across time zones, including in the sidebar and task editor.
Enjoy smoother sidebar toolbar transitions and more responsive widget resizing.
Recover more reliably from slow calendar syncs and rejected Google access tokens.

Fixed
Resolved onboarding flickering, transparency issues, and inconsistent window positioning.
Starting a trial now works with one tap.
1.1.7 Sep 30
Hora is now faster on busy calendars and handles everyday actions in the background, so you can stay focused without bringing it to the front.
NEW
AppleScript support lets you add events and tasks, see what is next, join meetings, and respond to invitations without opening Hora. A Raycast extension is coming soon.
On macOS 27, use Siri and Shortcuts to perform these actions by voice or automation.
During setup, choose whether to receive live calendar updates and share diagnostic information.
IMPROVED
Move through Day, Week, and Month views faster with less background processing and shorter animations.
Day and Week views remember your scroll position, so you can return to the same place.
Hora now opens directly to your calendar.
FIXED
Month popovers now scroll correctly.
Resolved several issues affecting the sidebar, calendar display, and setup.
1.1.6 Sep 26
The biggest release since launch. Hora now brings more of Google Calendar into one focused Mac app, so you can manage tasks, book rooms, find a time for everyone, and respond to invitations without switching to your browser.
NEW
Google Tasks
Manage your Google task lists in Hora. Tasks sync with your calendars, appear in the sidebar with Google’s task composer, and show alongside events in Day, Week, and Month views. Drag a task onto the calendar to assign it a time. Google keeps the date, while Hora remembers the time on your Mac. Complete a task anywhere and it is marked done everywhere.
Use the Tasks settings to choose visible lists, placement, the default list for new tasks, and how completed or overdue tasks are handled. Move overdue tasks to today without changing their dates in Google. Assign a custom colour to any list from the sidebar.
Meeting rooms
Google Workspace users can browse their organisation’s room directory and book rooms from the same field used for guests. Hora shows each room’s building and checks room availability alongside attendee availability. Accounts without a room directory continue to use the field as a standard guest list.
Find a time
Open the availability popover while creating an event to see every attendee’s free and busy times in side by side lanes. Hora highlights times when everyone, including the meeting room, is available. Select a slot to place the event there.
Customisable right sidebar
Arrange the Agenda and Tasks widgets to suit your workflow. Drag the divider to adjust their heights, and use Settings to choose which widgets appear and in what order.
Google Calendar settings
On a fresh install, Hora imports your Google Calendar week start, clock format, default event duration, declined event visibility, and weekend settings. It fills in only blank Hora preferences, so your existing choices stay unchanged. Run Import settings from Google whenever you want to sync them again.
Meeting links
Teams and Zoom meetings now open directly in their apps instead of sending you through a browser.
Contact photos
Attendee photos can come from Google People. You can also prevent Hora from accessing your Mac address book.
More calendar control
Show a calendar in the grid without adding it to the sidebar agenda. Hide declined events from the grid entirely.
IMPROVED
Sidebar sections now remember when you collapse them, making large calendar lists easier to manage.
Both sidebars use consistent headings and text sizes. Text Size now also applies to the Invitations list and task chips.
Task chips use the same colours and title sizing as events, with improved contrast in light and dark mode.
Weekends now appear slightly darker across the all day and working location rows as well as the hourly grid.
Onboarding uses page transitions and opens directly in setup instead of showing a shrinking splash screen.
Sync diagnostics now show how many calendars are enabled, not just how many Hora has detected. A lighter resync can fetch your Google data again without changing local events.
Moving one day at a time no longer rebuilds the entire grid. Resize handles now stay aligned with the column beneath the pointer.
FIXED
The sidebar widget divider continued working after reaching its resize limit.
Tasks now remain visible in the all day row and no longer appear in the wrong row in Day view.
Month view now keeps busy days inside their cells so tasks and events are not cut off.
New tasks now always use the selected default list, regardless of where you create them.
Removing an account now also removes its tasks and meeting rooms.
1.1.0 Sep 25
Answer invitations with a specific alternative time instead of a reluctant maybe.
NEW
Propose a new time directly from Hora. Right click an event you were invited to, and Hora opens Google Calendar in your browser with the correct event and account selected. The option appears only for invitations from other people, never for events you organise.
IMPROVED
Get more accurate sync diagnostics. Hora now reports how many of your calendars are enabled in Settings, rather than only how many it knows about. This makes it easier to tell the difference between a calendar that is not enabled and one that is syncing successfully.
1.0.34 Sep 9
Cut, copy and paste events directly from the Edit menu, enjoy a cleaner Agenda, and avoid duplicate entries when an event is blocked on another calendar.
NEW
Cut, Copy and Paste in the Edit menu now work with the selected event. Use Command X, Command C or Command V to move or duplicate events. Text copied from notes and search fields continues to use these shortcuts as usual.
IMPROVED
The Agenda widget is easier to scan in Light and Dark mode. Each event appears on its own surface with more space between entries, and N more now aligns with section headings.
Diagnostics send fewer reports, with each report containing more useful information.
FIXED
Events blocked on another calendar no longer appear twice as both the original event and a Busy entry. The Agenda widget, menu bar panel and notifications now show only the original event, including its calendar, organiser and call link.
If the source calendar is hidden or has notifications turned off, the block continues to appear on its own.
1.0.33 Sep 8
Hora now gives you a clearer view of your day and more control over your workspace.
NEW
Agenda in the right sidebar shows today’s and tomorrow’s events at a glance. See what is next, open event details with one click, and switch to Day view when your schedule gets busy.
Customize the right sidebar by turning the Agenda, Pomodoro Timer, and Keyboard Shortcuts widgets on or off. Arrange them in your preferred order from Settings, Sidebar or the View menu. Up to two widgets appear at once to keep your workspace tidy.
Use Option Command S to show or hide the calendar list, and Option Command I to show or hide the right sidebar.
IMPROVED
Sync diagnostics now show how many events each calendar contains. You can quickly tell whether a calendar is empty or simply has no upcoming events.
FIXED
Calendars added while sync appeared successful could remain empty. Hora now loads their events correctly.
1.0.32 Sep 7
This release is about diagnostics. Nothing changes in how Hora looks or works day to day, but when calendar sync goes wrong we can now see which calendar it was and why.
IMPROVED
- Sync diagnostics now record which calendar was affected, instead of only how many.
- A sync that could not refresh one of your calendars is no longer recorded as successful.
- Diagnostic reports are more precise, so a problem you report can be traced without a round of extra questions.
FIXED
- Diagnostics of Hora were not being delivered at all.
