A KeePass-compatible iOS password manager with free YubiKey NFC authentication. Kakuremi makes hardware-key authentication accessible without any additional cost. Built on a Rust core engine for robustness and designed local-first, so your vault data stays on your device. RUST-POWERED KDBX ENGINE The core engine is written in Rust, a memory-safe language that eliminates entire classes of vulnerabilities that have historically affected password managers, including buffer overflows and use-after-free errors. Supports both KDBX 3.x and 4.x formats and is fully compatible with files created by KeePassXC, KeePass2, and other standard-compliant KeePass clients. NATIVE iOS AUTOFILL The Apple Credential Provider extension fills credentials in Safari and third-party apps. New credentials can also be added directly from the AutoFill extension, queued, and imported when you next open the app. LOCAL-FIRST — YOUR VAULT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Kakuremi has no accounts and no cloud sync. The only network features are optional and off by default: website icons (only a site's domain is sent to Google's favicon service) and password breach-check (an anonymized partial hash sent to Have I Been Pwned). Your passwords and vault data are never transmitted. No analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporting. The decrypted database exists only in memory while the app is unlocked and is zeroed when the app locks. New in 1.1.0: • Optional Face ID lock for AutoFill — require Face ID before AutoFill fills a password. Off by default; turn it on in Settings. • Clearer YubiKey messages — if a key can't be used to unlock (for example, a FIDO-only Security Key that doesn't support Challenge-Response, or a slot that isn't programmed), Kakuremi now tells you exactly why and what to do. • AutoFill fixes — saved logins are now correctly limited to the database you're using, and deleted entries in the Recycle Bin no longer appear. • Polished Korean, Polish, and Swedish translations. As always: offline-first, KeePass-compatible, with free YubiKey 5 NFC support.
