• Live service status — The Settings screen now shows a live status indicator, so you can tell at a glance that everything's running. Tap it to view the full status page without leaving the app.

screen — Português, Français, 日本語, and more.

1.14.0 Jun 25
This update sharpens push notifications and unread badges:
• Breaking news alerts now show the exact story title and deep-link to that specific article, instead of grouping multiple events into one combined push.
• Fixed unread badges on the Latest News and Breaking tabs so they accurately reflect new content — the previous version could show "0" even when new stories had arrived.
• App icon badge count is now correct.
• Behind-the-scenes performance, reliability, and translation-quality improvements.
1.13.0 Jun 9
Push notifications by topic, subscribe only to the topics you care about — Politics, Business, Tech, Climate, Sports, Science, Health, or Investigative.
Breaking news pushes go only to users following that topic. Your daily digest skips on days with no matching stories.
Settings now splits interests into Geographic and Topics for clarity. Translation reliability also improved across all 11 languages.

⏺ What's New in v1.10.0
Trending Now, read-along audio, and a smoother way to follow stories.
- Trending Now
A new section at the top of the Latest News tab surfaces the day's most widely-covered stories — the ones multiple outlets are converging on. Trending articles also get a small orange flame badge wherever they appear (Saved,
Offline, even when you scroll past them in the main list), so you can spot them at a glance. There's a new Trending filter chip too, in case you want to zero in just on the day's biggest stories.
- Read-Along Audio
The Listen feature just got a major upgrade. As the article is read aloud, the current phrase is gently highlighted in sync with the audio — turning passive listening into a comfortable read-along experience that boosts
comprehension and helps you stay engaged. The highlight moves at a natural reading pace, grouped in 5–8 word phrases at natural punctuation breaks, so it never feels jumpy.
A polished progress card shows while we generate the audio and align the words, and everything is cached after the first listen — so anyone opening the same article gets instant playback with perfect sync.
- Also in this release
- Snappier listen flow with safer error recovery if audio takes too long
- Trending filter chip integrates with the existing perspective row (All / For You / Trending / Underreported / Left / Center / Right)
- All 11 languages translated for the new sections and badges
