Find your welcome. Leave a Leaflet for a spot you love, and see what people who share your background think before you walk in.
Find your welcome.
Stars tell you how many people liked a place. They don't tell you if the place is for you. GreenBook does. You leave a Leaflet instead of a star rating, and you see what people who share your background think before you walk in.
Rooted in the DMV & NYC. Expanding every day.
LEAFLETS, NOT STARS
A Leaflet is five or six quick questions written for the kind of place: a restaurant, a salon, a lounge, an auto shop. Each answer is a slider from 0 to 10 in steps of 0.1. Belonging is on every Leaflet. It takes about 30 seconds.
THE LEAF
The leaf is the score badge on every business. Set your background, and the leaf opens on what people who share it think. Tap it for everyone. Break a score into Quality, Atmosphere, Service, Belonging and Value. A group shows up in the breakdown once at least three reviewers share it.
54,000+ LOCAL BUSINESSES
Restaurants, salons, cafes, lounges, wellness studios, auto shops and more, across the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) and New York City. Hours, photos and distance where we have them. Don't see a spot? Request it in the app. Don't see your city yet? Tell us where to grow next.
A FEED THAT KNOWS YOUR PRIORITIES
Tell us what matters to you, like atmosphere, service, value or belonging, and your feed puts the places that match at the top. No ads. No paid placements.
SEARCH THE WAY YOU TALK
Ask for a quiet brunch spot near you and GreenBook reads what you mean.
COMMUNITY
Read stories from people who have been there. Post a heads-up when something is off. It fades after 14 days unless others confirm it.
LEAF LEVELS
Leave thoughtful Leaflets and grow your badge from Seedling to Evergreen. Levels are recognition only. They never change a score.
FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
Request to claim your page in the app. It is free. We confirm with a call to your listed number. Add photos, hours, your website and Instagram. See your Leaflets broken down by dimension, with a tip for your lowest score. Get a ping for every new Leaflet. Share your score to any app.
WHY WE BUILT THIS
People have always found the places where they are welcome by word of mouth. GreenBook is that, with receipts.
Free on iOS.
NEAR YOU
Home and the map start with businesses close to you.
Category filters stay local too.
REVIEWS
Leaflet sliders now start unset.
Editing a Leaflet brings back your saved answers, note and photos.
OWNERS
Request to claim your page in the app. We confirm with a call to your listed number.
STORIES
Your background shows on a story only if you turn on Show my background.
FIXED
Nearby Restaurants no longer lists dentists, shops or car washes.
Home keeps the last businesses you saw when you are offline, with a Try Again button.
If AI search cannot connect, regular search takes over.
