An audio editor you can play. New in 1.1: the Library, SoundEdit Pro to measure every sound, and MCP for your own AI agent. One-time purchase. No subscription. An audio editor you can play. Load a sound and it becomes a polyphonic instrument: play it from a MIDI keyboard or the computer keys, chop it into slices and fire them from pads. Record anything your Mac plays, layer sounds live over the untouched original, browse a folder in the Library, and get it to spec in one pass. And the file remembers every move. PLAY IT, DON'T JUST TRIM IT The oldest idea in sampling, and the one audio editors forgot: the sound you are editing should be playable. The keyboard plays a file across the octaves, polyphonically, with envelope and filter per voice. Chop it and the same keys become pads: from the note row, or velocity-sensitive from your controller. Eight Audio Unit slots play live, and the chain stays with the file. THE LIBRARY Open any folder as a list of its sounds, nothing imported, and play them. SoundEdit Pro measures each one as it is listed: what it is, its tempo, note, key and loudness. Filter by any of them, or by what you describe in plain words. Hear loops at your DAW's tempo from its MIDI clock, in one key, and drag them out that way. Correct a class and SoundEdit learns it; Write Into Files puts a tempo, root note or loop into the file itself. Split a session of hits into named takes, make kits for samplers and devices, run recipes across folders, and let your own AI agent use what SoundEdit measures. RECORD ANYTHING YOUR MAC PLAYS What's playing, one app, or any input. The take paints into the waveform as it arrives, safe from its first second. Arm and roll on one clock, and punch in on zero crossings so joins are click-free. INGREDIENTS STAY LIVE Drop one sound onto another and it becomes an Ingredient: frame-exact over the untouched original, still live and adjustable. A music bed under a voice-over, an 808 under a beat: you hear the arrangement while you arrange it. Reduce flattens it, as a step you can undo. BUILT FOR THE MACHINES ON YOUR DESK Pull a kit from your EP, edit the slices, send back only the pads you changed. Send kits to an OP-1 field and presets to an OP-XY over USB, and open what they made with their metadata intact. Slice the way an MPC does. Save at 46,875 Hz when the device wants that exact rate. THE FILE KEEPS THE RECORD Every edit is kept in an Audiofile Recipe beside your library, and the audio stays exactly as you saved it. Undo still works tomorrow, every save is a step you can return to, and Versions live side by side instead of becoming take_02_final_v3.wav. The recipe follows the sound itself through renames and moves. A WHOLE FOLDER, TO SPEC, IN ONE PASS Drop a folder and every file comes out converted, resampled, normalized to peak or loudness under a true-peak ceiling, silence trimmed, named by a template, root note written for samplers. Normalize a kit as a group so it keeps its balance. Every result is a new file; your originals stay as they were. IT FEELS LIKE GEAR Every command is listed with its key and its MIDI control; change either by pressing the one you want. An OP-1, OP-XY or any EP arrives already mapped, knobs, pages and pads, and anything else learns in a press. THE WAVEFORM IS AN INSTRUMENT READOUT SoundEdit draws the sound the way a scope would: amplitude density, harmonic and percussive content in different hues, the bloom of a phosphor trace. One key shows its numbers: true peak, loudness, DC offset, clipped samples, tempo. LOOPS, TEMPO AND PITCH Zero-crossing snapping, transient magnets and a beat grid sit at the center. Set the tempo, lock to an external clock, stretch to a length or straight to a BPM, shift pitch with formants preserved, on a time-stretch engine built in-house. FORMATS Opens WAV, AIFF, CAF, MP3, M4A, AAC and FLAC. Saves WAV, AIFF, CAF, FLAC, ALAC, AAC and MP3, 16, 24 or 32-bit, at the source rate or your device's rate. Text tags survive every save. TRY IT FOR FOURTEEN DAYS The editor and SoundEdit Pro each have a 14-day trial. One-time purchase. No subscription.

The Library: a folder of sounds, measured, in time and in key. • Open any folder as a list of its sounds, with nothing to import: play them, and open any one in the editor. • Let your own AI agent use SoundEdit: it reads what SoundEdit measures, and SoundEdit does the hearing, the editing and the History. New: SoundEdit Pro, with a 14-day trial of its own. • Every sound measured as it's listed: what it is, its tempo, note, key and loudness. Filter by any of them, by what you describe in plain words, or by what sounds like a sound you drop on the window. • Loops heard at your sequencer's or DAW's tempo, from its MIDI clock, or at one you type, and in one key. Drag one out and it arrives at that tempo and in that key. • Correct a sound's class and SoundEdit learns it. Write Into Files puts a tempo, a root note or a loop into the file itself, where a sampler or any app that reads it finds it. • A long session of hits split into named takes. Kits for an OP-XY, OP-1 or EP, or an SFZ, Decent Sampler, SoundFont, MPC or Ableton player. Any sound fitted to a device. • Recipes across folders: stage one, hear each result before anything is written, then run it. Every result is a new file, and your originals stay as they were. • Groups of sounds from any folders, in your own order; Smart Groups that keep a filter; Mix and Append to make many files one.
