Improvements - Saving is now sturdier. When your work syncs through iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar service, there is far less risk of losing text to an unexpected save. If two versions of a page come into conflict, Core now keeps the changes from both wherever it can; where the changes fall inside the same paragraph, the second one is kept as an alternative, so you can decide between them yourself later.

You can now keep more than one version of a passage side by side. Select the part you want to rework, press “Make alternative” in the toolbar, and the new take sits beside your text. The original stays where it is, so an undecided passage can wait there until you choose. Also in this release: - Links to other pages. In the toolbar’s link button, type a page name instead of a URL to link to a page in your project. - Per-page vertical and horizontal writing. Pages holding a lot of horizontal-script text turn horizontal on their own, even while the app is set to vertical. - A view of what the AI reads. Files light up in the left-hand list, so you can follow which ones it drew on for an answer. - Regular expressions in find and replace. - A faint dot beside manuscripts you are working on, in the left-hand list. Clicking an item in the file list now switches the center view to match what you picked. - Choose a category (Manuscript, Notes, Research) to open the outline view and see the whole picture. - Choose a folder that holds other items to open the corkboard, where they’re laid out as cards. - Choose a single document to jump straight into the editor. You can now build tables right in your text — drop data or side-by-side comparisons straight into a manuscript, report, or technical document. - Copy a table from a web page, or a Markdown table from chat, and paste it in to bring it across. - Tables work in vertical writing too. They fit to the page width and height, and long content wraps within each cell. - Edit cells in place, add or remove rows and columns from the right-click menu, and add a caption. - Tables carry through to your exports, including PDF and EPUB. Added a horizontal rule you can drop in to divide sections of your text. Paste a copied chat reply into your text and it now keeps its Markdown structure — headings, bullet lists, and more. We've rebuilt the export experience around four axes — style, writing direction, paper setup, and binding — so you can shape your manuscript exactly the way you want. - Vertical-writing print PDFs can now include crop marks and bleed, ready for zine and small-press submission. - Start each chapter on a new page, or carry your project's tree structure straight into the output. - EPUB now supports chapters, cover images, and book metadata. You can now mark each manuscript with a writing stage — Drafting, Revising, or Done — and, for example, export only the finished ones. Sources and quotations the AI surfaces now come with source cards, so you can check which claim rests on which reference right where you are. The writing history left in your text can now be shown in color, toggled from the toolbar. Tate-chu-yoko (horizontal digits and letters set within vertical lines), ruby (furigana), emphasis dots, line-breaking rules, and hanging punctuation render more naturally. - Editing in vertical mode was refined as well — text selection and drag, page-turn keys, and VoiceOver reading. AI chat - A running outline of every file now stays in the conversation, so answers remain grounded in the whole work even as you move between files. - File summaries are generated automatically, each with a one-line heading. The assistant keeps context across longer threads while sending less text back and forth. Along with a range of smaller fixes and stability improvements.
