Turn iPhone Duo sideways and open it to see the whole month on the left and the day's photo on the right. Fold or unfold it and you pick up right where you were. Wide iPad screens get the same two-pane view. In Frame Mode, Gallery White now runs edge to edge, with no black band along the bottom.

A month of one-photo-a-day now becomes a vertical short video. From your monthly recap, save it to Photos or share it straight to Stories and Reels — with each day's date and note. Videos export without sound, so you can add any music you like when posting in Instagram or TikTok.

Your album now has a few quiet words of its own. After you choose a photo, swap it or save a note, a short line marks the moment. Getting started is simpler too: one screen explains automatic picks and lets you understand photo access before deciding. You can change allowed photos in Settings. All paid features now come in a monthly or yearly subscription, with family sharing included. Already bought Plus? Every Plus benefit stays yours permanently. Review requests now follow moments spent enjoying your album, not recording streaks.

You can now export all your photos, dates and notes as a single ZIP file. It’s free, and you can open it on a computer even without the app. Save or share a month of your calendar as one image. Year images and extra designs are included with Plus. And small improvements throughout.

When your iPhone is charging on its side, tapping a widget now starts Frame Mode from that photo. Fixed an issue where a purchase could sometimes show as free. Fixed notes disappearing while you type in Frame Mode, photos you stopped sharing staying on family devices, and widgets showing a photo you had replaced. Frame Mode also opens faster when you have many days saved.

DailyAlbum Plus and Family now share one screen, so you can compare them and see what each one adds at a glance. Settings are regrouped by purpose: Display, Choose & write, Family, Notifications, and Storage & sync. A new welcome for first-time users.

On the calendar, days with a photo could be drawn slightly wider than the others, so the leftmost and rightmost columns looked cut off. All days now have the same width.

DailyAlbum Plus or Family could appear inactive after the app had been in the background for a while. Your purchase now stays active. On the timeline, long-pressing and dragging the scroll bar could leave it stuck, with the month label cut off and the photo not loading. Fixed.

Frame Mode now stays on when you come back from another app. A device you set up as a frame is still a frame when you return. Closing it with × still closes it. With a larger text size, the date and note on your frame could be cut off. They now stay readable, even at the largest size. In Gallery White, the white mat briefly darkened while photos changed. Fixed. If you picked a different photo for a day you share with your family, their screen kept showing the old one. The new photo now reaches them. With DailyAlbum Archive, if you picked a different photo for a day and deleted it from your library before it was saved, that day could be left with no copy. The previous copy is now kept until the new one is saved.

See exactly which photos your frame will show. Open it from Settings under Display — free for everyone. The playback order is shown too, so you know what comes next, and a day you hid can be brought back from here. Right after opening Frame Mode, a few of your saved days could be missing. The photos were never gone — they just hadn't finished loading. Fixed. Also fixed: a widget could show a photo you didn't choose for that day, and the wrong photo could reach iCloud or your family's screen. The FAQ is now grouped by what you are doing, with each question opening on its own.

Now with the extra large widget on iOS 27: nearly a full Home Screen page becomes the photo you chose that day, in your own words. Works for Today's Photo, memories, and the family frame. New in Settings: "Only pick photos with people or pets" (free, off by default). Auto-pick then looks only for photos with a person or an animal, and reviews previously auto-picked days as it goes. If a day has none, it stays empty — open the day and pick any photo yourself. Settings is reorganized: Display, Keep, Protect and Share, in that order, with your current plan at the top. Plus benefits and purchase now live on a single page you open from there. Family sharing: photos that are no longer on your device are fetched from iCloud so they can be shared. When a day can't be shared yet, you now see why — waiting for the photo, subscription not active, or not enough iCloud storage. Fixed: a day's record, or a photo you had saved, could disappear when a photo simply couldn't be loaded for a moment.

Frame Mode now has a "Sleep schedule": the screen goes dark at night and comes back on its own in the morning — no need to touch the device. Works in Frame Mode, the shared family frame, and on a TV. Free. Added "Hide this day from Frame Mode": from the frame's settings, keep a day on your calendar while leaving it out of the frame. To bring it back, open the day and tap "Show in Frame Mode again". When you swipe through the frame by hand, the photo and its date now change together, right away. Automatic playback keeps its slow crossfade. Swiping left and right now feels the same in the calendar, the day screen, and the frame, and you can swipe to change the month. On iPad there are previous/next buttons beside the grid and the photo, and the ← → keys work on an external keyboard. The search bar in Memories moved to the top of the screen, and the bar at the bottom now lets the photo behind it show through. Family sharing: invited family members can only view — they can't change your photos, notes, or records. When the connection is unstable, DailyAlbum now retries on its own and tells you what's going on.

Fixed cases where, when using DailyAlbum on more than one device, a photo or note you changed could revert, or a day you removed could come back. Fixed a case where, after changing a day's photo on another device, the old photo could keep showing. Fixed a case where deleting a tag you were sharing with family left already-shared photos on their side. While sharing, changes to the sharing scope now take effect with "Apply Sharing Scope". Fixed a case where, depending on the connection, a purchase could be treated as not purchased. Widget photos now keep their full color on tinted Home Screens. Added "How do I turn an old iPhone or iPad into a photo frame?" to the FAQ, and rewrote the explanation of where photos are stored so it is accurate for each feature.

Faster launch. The calendar appears sooner, and heavy work like re-checking auto-picked photos now runs after the screen is up. You can see what's loading. Days whose photo hasn't arrived yet, plus the memories row and the on-this-day cards, now show a loading state. Lighter day-to-day use. Saving a chosen photo and rebuilding the calendar are now batched.

Fixed photo transitions in Frame Mode. In full-screen display, photos no longer appear to stretch when the orientation changes. Frame swaps now simply fade out and rise back in, without any zoom. Also fixed the Memories widget sometimes not changing its photo.

Frame Mode changes photos more quietly. The frame stays still while the photo inside slowly fades to the next one. When the orientation changes, the whole frame gently fades out and the next one rises into place. TV output and the family frame behave the same way.

iPad now uses the whole screen: a large single column in portrait, two columns in landscape. Frame Mode works with your TV. Connect with AirPlay or HDMI and the TV shows only the framed photo with its date and note, while your iPhone becomes the remote. The frame itself is new: a wooden moulding with a mat, and the date and note now sit right under the frame. Gallery White is the default frame style for new setups (your saved choice stays). The FAQ on widget sizes has been rewritten.

PhotoDay 3.1 makes Family Frame nicer to look at and easier to live with. Family members viewing your album can now choose a display style — full screen, Gallery White, or Gallery Dark — and set the playback order and how often photos change, right from the frame. Opening Frame Mode is simpler too: if you keep your own days, it opens yours; a viewing-only device goes straight to the family album. PhotoDay Family now starts with a free first month. Auto-pick is more generous: landscapes, food, black-and-white shots, and snowy days are no longer skipped — only photos that look like documents or receipts stay off the calendar, and any such picks from the past are quietly cleared. Settings are reorganized so everyday controls come first, and launch is faster and more stable for albums with many days.

PhotoDay 3.0 introduces Family Frame: share your days with family. Choose exactly what to share — all daily photos, or only days with a tag you pick — then send an invite link. Family sees one photo per day in PhotoDay, like a photo frame in their home: view-only, always free for them, and you can see when they last looked. Family Frame is part of PhotoDay Family, a new subscription that includes all PhotoDay Plus features while active. Everything you already own stays as it is. PhotoDay also now warns you inside the app when your iCloud storage runs low.

Frame Mode now offers display styles. Choose Gallery White or Gallery Dark to show your photo in a slim walnut-tone frame with a fine gold line, resting on a soft matte, with the date and note as a small caption — and photo changes now cross-fade gently. Tags are easier, too: the tags you create are saved and appear as one-tap suggestions, and you can view, rename, and delete them in Settings > Tags. Auto-pick is more careful: it no longer chooses shots that look like documents or receipts, leaving those days empty for you to pick, and it quietly cleans up past auto-picks like that. Photos you chose yourself are never touched.

You can now add short tags to your daily photos — a family member's name, for example — and search by tag. Tags sync through iCloud, just like notes. Frame Mode can show just the photos you choose: a single tag, favorites, the last 30 days, or this year, and photos now change with a gentle cross-fade. Auto-picked photos are also better at finding moments with people and pets.

PhotoDay is now available in 12 more languages, including Russian, Polish, Turkish, Thai, and Vietnamese. Also, calendar day numbers now sit in the same spot on every day, photo or not.
