What's new in this version? • Welcome screen: On first launch, pick your language and favorite categories so your feed is tailored to you. Your choices sync to your account when you sign in. • Redesigned top bar: Selecting a category no longer opens a separate page — the selected category stays in the bar, and its arrow lets you switch between Latest and Highlights. • Tap again to scroll up: Tapping the active tab again takes you back to the top; at the top, it exits the selected category. • AI Assistant orb: Tapping outside the menu now closes it. • "Highlights" inside a category now shows that category's own top stories. • Smoother experience on first launch and weak connections, plus various visual fixes and performance improvements.

This update brings a redesigned Kantan.News: • New full-screen menu — Search, notifications, and quick tools in one place. Switch theme, adjust text size, and reach all settings with a single tap. • Offline mode — Download news in advance and read without an internet connection. Choose the last 24 hours, 72 hours, or a full week; optionally include images and audio narrations. Download before your flight, read in the air. Manage your downloaded packages from the archive. • Notification center — Tap the bell in the menu to see your notifications and manage notification settings (including quiet hours) on a single screen. • Refreshed AI Assistant — Access the main menu right from the assistant; your chat history now lives in a tidy bottom-sheet archive. • Feedback and bug reports are now also accessible from your profile screen. The Kantan.News user experience has been completely revamped. Try out the new Latest, Featured, and Following tabs. Adding and editing categories, and following tags based on your interests is now easier than ever. Kantan.News continues to improve with your suggestions and feedback. This release rebuilds the notification settings and fixes issues you reported. • Notification settings redesigned. There's now a single "News Notifications" switch, with an "Only my interests" option right below it. The description tells you exactly what your choice does — with the old setting, some people turned off all news notifications without realising it. • More reliable notifications. Accounts that are new to the app now receive notifications for major stories too. • Reading stats fixed. In some cases the articles you read weren't being counted; badges and daily streaks now track correctly. • "More" category menu. With many categories added, the list now scrolls and "Edit Categories" is always reachable. • Blocking. Repeating the action on someone you already blocked now correctly tells you the block was removed. • Discover. Fixed an issue where you could open the same profile over and over from within itself. • Accessibility. With VoiceOver and Speak Screen, podcast durations are now read as "3 minutes 25 seconds" instead of as a clock time. Every report you send makes the app better — keep writing to us from Settings > Report a Bug / Feedback.

Quick Actions: Long-press the app icon to jump straight to your favorite sections. Personalized Notifications: A new notification setting lets you get alerts only for the topics you care about. Kantan.News is now more personal and smoother! • Refreshed color theme: an easy-on-the-eyes soft dark mode and a new warm-toned light mode. • Personalized notifications: you'll now only get alerts for news matched to your interests - no more notifications from categories you don't care about. Notification settings are simpler, too. • Full-screen reading: the category menu and stories bar gracefully slide away as you scroll and return when you scroll up. News now flows edge to edge. • The bottom bar on article pages now hides and reappears with your scroll, just like on the home feed. • The Settings menu has been reorganized - everything is easier to find. • Fixed silent failures when editing your category menu; if something goes wrong, you'll now see why. • Fixed a rare session mix-up issue and hardened account security. What's new: • Links inside articles now open in the app. Tap a link to an earlier story and it opens right here — the back button or an edge swipe returns you to the article you were reading. • Improved opening articles from notifications. Tapping a new notification while an article is open now takes you to the right story. • Fixed a blank page that could appear when opening an article from your likes, comments or saved list in your profile. • The bottom menu now stays visible while you read an article.

Report issues, share suggestions, attach a screenshot, and follow our team's replies right inside the app — with an instant notification when we respond. • New achievements: Report a critical bug to earn the "Bug Hunter" badge, or share a great idea to earn "Bright Idea" — both come with bonus points. • Community safety: You can now report comments and Discover posts, and track the status of your reports on the same screen. • Offline support: the app now opens instantly and shows the latest news even when you're offline.
