This update: • Assistants can ask for details with form cards: text, switches, choices, sliders and dates. • Pin a card's key points to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. • Pin a card's key points to a Home Screen widget. • Open system panels in one tap to add events, pick contacts, and draft mail and messages that you send yourself. • Numbers roll and cards animate lightly, and both stop when Reduce Motion is on. • A new "Generative UI" switch in Enhanced Experience is on by default.

What's new: • Long conversations feel faster: reopening a long chat is noticeably quicker, going back to the list no longer drops frames, and a chat opens right at the latest message. • Better voice input: tap once to talk, and hold-to-talk has a new panel with a smoother VoiceOver reading order. • More reliable long recordings: an hour-long recording keeps organizing after you lock the screen or switch apps, and if it does fail, the page tells you why and lets you retry. • First batch of iCloud sync improvements: sync status is shown honestly, and after you move to a new phone the Home screen tells you what came with you and what is still missing. The iCloud banner at the top of Home no longer covers the first row or keeps popping up. • Home avatars now change expression with status (working, waiting for you, error, done). They stay still when Reduce Motion is on. • Fixed adjacent messages overlapping when you send another message while a reply is still streaming. • Archive previews no longer spin forever, and non-English file names display correctly. Images and videos your assistant generates appear in the chat right away. • Bold Chinese text in replies displays correctly, and picking a file shows an attachment chip in the input box instead of a path. • If ChatGPT sign-in is not available in your region, the app now explains why and suggests using an API key instead. • The assistant now reads files only inside the areas you allow (recent files from before need to be picked again once).
