Sharper under the hood. We've tuned how Naruho learns from the way you explore, so the stories and routes keep getting better, plus reliability fixes across ambient walks, snaps and plans.

Naruho now remembers your walk. Trip memory (Pro). Your guide remembers the stories you have heard and draws the threads between them. Hear about a fountain in the morning, and when you pass its sculptor's later work, the guide makes the connection. A day of walking becomes one story, not a string of facts. Your day, retold (Pro). At the end of a day's wandering, hear a sixty-second recap of everywhere you went, woven into a single story. Made to share with whoever you wish you had brought along. A guide that talks you there. Guided walks now speak each turn out loud, so your phone stays in your pocket and your eyes stay on the street. Wander off and the route quietly redraws from wherever you are. This update makes discovery feel like walking. New • Nearby is reorganised by how far you'll walk: Right here, A short walk, or Further out, always closest first. • Distances now read as walking time, like "3 min", because steps matter more than metres. • Quick filter chips let you focus on what you fancy: museums, historic sites, parks and more, on the list and the map at once. • A calmer, clearer look across the list and the pins. Refined • Naruho now surfaces places with a story and skips the noise. No more hotels, transit stops or nightlife. • Walking routes on the map follow the streets properly. • Tap a pin to read the teaser, then jump straight back to your list. Fixed • Smoother scrolling, and tidier layouts on smaller iPhones and at larger text sizes. • Location rests when you're not exploring, so it's lighter on your battery. Naruho 1.6 is our biggest update yet. Guided tours, rebuilt. The new Guide mode plans a walking tour around wherever you are right now, orders the stops so the route actually flows, and walks you through it turn by turn on a map that follows along. Lock your phone and the next stop, distance and direction stay right on your Lock Screen. Made a tour you loved? It's saved, so you can pick it up again later. A whole new voice. We've retired the robotic text-to-speech completely. Every narration now uses rich, natural premium audio, and Pro members get our highest-quality voice on top. Ambient Mode is now free to try, thirty minutes a day. Walk anywhere, headphones in, and Naruho narrates whatever's around you. No route, no tour. Pro removes the daily limit.

Ambient mode just got a lot smarter. Pro version only! Stories now land at the exact moment you're walking past a place, narrations know which direction you're approaching from, and bus stops or chain shops will never trigger a story again. Sharper stories, smoother map Improved how facts are researched. Narrations now draw from full Wikipedia articles, Wikidata records, and OpenStreetMap data for more accurate, specific content. Major landmarks are now consistently highlighted, including Eiffel Tower, Sagrada Família, Pantheon, Colosseum and many more. Narrations continue when the app is in the background, with playback controls on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Map interactions feel more responsive, with smoother transitions and improved pin loading. “Search this area” now reflects the visible map region more accurately. General performance improvements and minor fixes.

Better photos. Galleries now pull from canonical Wikimedia categories and geotagged photos within 50 metres of each place, so you see the actual landmark instead of a generic match. Smarter paywall. Each Pro feature has a one-line explanation, and a new play button lets you hear the difference between standard and premium narration before you subscribe. Smoother appearance switching. Light, Dark and System mode changes now apply to every screen at once. Plus polish around interest filtering, loading states, and dark-mode icons.

The map stays interactive while you explore nearby places, with a smaller peek view when you want to focus. Settings are easier to use. Pick your units, manage your subscription, and try narration without leaving the screen. Plus plenty of small fixes to playback, the Now Playing bar, and overall reliability.

The bottom sheet now collapses to a slim peek, so the map fills the screen when you want to look around. Tap the peek bar or drag it up when you're ready to browse again.

Based on users' feedback, plans feel more generous now. Tap a ready-made pick to explore a new theme for free, or tap + to build a custom plan with the assistant, seeded with three example prompts based on where you are. Settings adds a distance-unit toggle for metric or imperial, and a handful of small rough edges have been polished along the way.

More to notice, quicker to see it. Naruho now surfaces the quiet stuff most guides skip: memorials, markets, small sculptures, the bits that give a place its character. And results land on the list the moment we find them, not seconds later.
