DayCount: Event Countdown
Widgets that actually work
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
The Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets are free, and in 1.1 they finally show your real countdown instead of the app icon.
DayCount counts the days to the things you are waiting for, and puts them on your Lock Screen and Home Screen without asking you to pay for it.
THE WIDGETS ARE FREE
Every widget is included and none of them is behind a purchase:
- Home Screen small, medium and large. The large one lists your next four events.
- Lock Screen circular, rectangular and inline.
- They show the event, the emoji and the days left, in the colour you picked.
That should not be a selling point. In this category it is.
FREE, FOREVER
- As many countdowns as you want
- A colour and an emoji for every one
- Repeating events for birthdays and anniversaries, which roll to next year on their own
- A notification on the day
- Sort by date or drag them into the order you want
- Edit or delete any countdown, any time
- Everything stays on your device. No account, no sign-up
BUILT FOR THE DATES THAT MATTER
Birthdays, a flight, a due date, an exam, the end of a lease, a wedding, the last day of a job. Add it once and DayCount does the counting.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND
No ads. No account to create. No limit on how many countdowns you keep. No paywall in front of the widget.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
The widget works now. It did not before, and that is worth saying plainly.
- Fixed: the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets never showed your events. The app and the widget were reading two different places, so the widget came up empty on every install since launch. They now share one store and show your real countdown.
- New: Lock Screen widgets, circular, rectangular and inline.
- New: a large Home Screen widget listing your next four events.
- Fixed: event titles were invisible on some screens.
- Settings now shows the real version number and links to the Terms of Use.
Every widget is free. It always will be.
