Receipt to PDF
Scan receipts locally
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Receipt to PDF is a privacy-first scanning utility for people who want a clean receipt archive without signing up for another service.
Scan a paper receipt with Apple's native document camera, rename the file, and save the finished PDF directly into Files. If you prefer, approve a parent location once and let the app create and reuse a dedicated Receipts folder. If that location is in iCloud Drive, Apple handles the sync through the user's own account.
The app does not require an account, does not create a proprietary inbox, and does not send receipt images to a developer-run server.
What you can do with Receipt to PDF:
- scan receipts locally on-device
- save through Files every time or use a dedicated Receipts folder
- rename each PDF before export
- add an optional 4-digit passcode for app-level privacy
- keep using your own folder structure in Files or iCloud Drive
- avoid accounts, tracking, and a vendor storage layer
Receipt to PDF is built for one job: turning paper receipts into organized PDFs that stay under the user's control.

What's New in Receipt to PDF 1.3
Date-range filtering across every view. Filter your library and reports by This Month, Last Month, Q1–Q4, This Year, Last 3 Months, Last 6 Months, or a custom date range you pick. The receipt list, totals, category subtotals, and all exports (CSV, Summary PDF, ZIP) reflect exactly the window you choose — so your Q1 report only contains Q1.
Monthly spending bar chart. The Reports tab now shows a bar chart of your total receipt spending for each of the last six calendar months, built on device with no network call. At a glance you can see whether March was heavier than February or whether Q4 is trending up.
Category share visualization. A color-coded proportional bar and legend now appears under the date-filtered totals, showing what fraction of your spending falls in each Schedule C category. Know immediately whether Meals or Supplies is your largest line item without reading every number.
