Caliu is a markdown notes app for people who write. No clutter, no toolbars in the way, no popups asking you to upgrade. Just a calm canvas, your text, and a way to find it again later.
It runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and stays in sync with the web app at web.caliuapp.com. Everything works offline. Your notes live on your device first and travel only when there's a connection.
• Write in markdown, see the result. Headings, lists, quotes, code blocks, and links format as you type. No preview pane, no switching modes. The interface steps aside so the writing can take over.
• Tags, not folders. Nest them, color them, search them. A note can live under as many tags as you want. Organisation that matches the way you think.
• Reminders that find you. Pin a time to any note and Caliu nudges you on every device you own. Good for the things you'd otherwise forget you wrote down.
• Sync you don't think about. Open Caliu on your Mac, keep going on your phone. Your notes are already there. No sync button, no spinner, no waiting.
• Themes worth living in. Ten color themes, light and dark, each with its own font trio for chrome, prose, and code. Pick one that suits the way you read. Switch when the mood changes.
• Links between notes. Connect notes the way you connect ideas. Caliu tracks who points where, so the web you're building stays visible.
• Export, share, own your work. Export any note as Markdown, plain text, HTML, ePub, or RTF. Share a note as a public link when someone needs to read it. Your notes are yours; nothing locks you in.
• Built for people who tinker. Caliu has a full REST API and a built-in MCP server. Connect Claude, Cursor, your own scripts, or anything else you build with. Notes you can program against.
• Made with care. Caliu is a small, independent project. No tracking, no AI features bolted on for the press release. A tool meant to be used every day.
