Automatically detect and redact sensitive information from any PDF — powered by on-device AI. No uploads, no cloud processing. Your documents never leave your device.
PDF Redact uses smart detection to find and hide personal information including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, account numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, and more. Just open a PDF, and the app instantly identifies what needs to be redacted.

This tool is a must have for anyone requiring automated pdf redaction
Does NOT WORK!!!!!
JOSHARZY
I tried to remove some pricing on a quote I received. Attempted to use this app to do that, ALL of the redactions are in the wrong places when exporting and vertical, not horizontal as I had selected.
Developer Response
You were right, and thank you for the detail — "vertical, not horizontal" is what let me find it.It was a real bug in the Mac version, and a bad one. On PDFs where the page carries a rotation flag — which quotes and scanned documents very often do — the export sized the page from its unrotated dimensions. The content came out sideways and the redaction boxes no longer matched where you'd placed them. This is fixed in version 1.1.0 and later, so an update will resolve it. Rotated pages now export in the orientation you see on screen, with the boxes exactly where you put them.I'm sorry you lost work to it, and more so that a redaction tool put boxes anywhere other than where you drew them — that's the one thing this app has to get right. If you try it again and anything looks off, I'd genuinely like to hear.
App force closed before redaction

App restarted before a 20 minute long redaction could be completed.
Developer Response
Thank you for reporting this — you were right, and it was a real bug.A few hundred scanned pages genuinely takes 20+ minutes, because every page goes through OCR, and the app did nothing to survive that. If the screen locked, iOS suspended the app and the whole run was lost. That's probably what you hit.Version 1.3.2 is now available and fixes it two ways. The screen stays awake while a scan is running, so it can't be cut short by the display locking. And progress is now saved page by page — if the app is ever stopped mid-scan, reopening the same document resumes from the page it reached instead of starting over. One thing I can't fix, and want to be upfront about: iOS does not permit apps to keep doing this kind of work in the background. The system suspends an app shortly after you switch away, and there's no entitlement or setting that changes it for on-device processing like this. So if you leave the app during a scan it will pause — but it picks up exactly where it left off when you return, and nothing is lost. For a long document, the reliable approach is to start the scan and leave the app open; with 1.3.2 the screen will stay on by itself.Sorry for the wasted time. If you give it another go, I'd genuinely like to know whether it holds up on your document.
Sharper detection on filled US forms.
• A name written "Last, First M." is now redacted in full — previously the middle initial could be left showing.
• Applicant names and home addresses on employment applications, W-4s and I-9s are found more reliably.
• Fewer unnecessary redactions on blank government and benefits forms, so there's less to uncheck before exporting.
