If your data on one device wasn't appearing on another in recent weeks, uninstalling and reinstalling KidneyKind will get you back to working sync, and new records will propagate normally from then on. Apple Watch users — the fix in this release also resolves a case where the watch could display stale settings (like fluid limit) after recent reinstall. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Also adds an End Date field to the medication editor for time-limited courses like antibiotics and steroid tapers — useful when you want to track that a medication has a defined stop date. Japanese translation included for the new field.

KidneyKind is now available in Japan, with Japan-aware content end to end. The Foundations directory adds Japan Kidney Association (JKA), Zenjinkyo (the patient-led national federation), Japanese Kidney Foundation, Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT), and Japan Organ Transplant Network (JOTNW). The kidney health news feed now pulls Japanese-language articles from Japanese outlets (NHK, Asahi, Yomiuri, Mainichi, Nikkei, and others) using kanji-targeted search. The transplant journey reflects Japan's pathway. Japanese patients see the JOT (Japan Organ Transplant Network) listing system, the family-consent meeting (kazoku setsumei) that's central to Japan's living-donor-dominant transplant landscape, and the public-coverage entitlement steps including the Physical Disability Certificate (身体障害者手帳), High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit (高額療養費), and Specific Disease (特定疾病) designation. Lab units default to mg/dL for Japanese patients, matching JSDT and Japanese clinic reporting conventions. The legal disclaimer addendum names the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) and clarifies KidneyKind as a personal record-keeping tool, not a regulated medical device. This release ships the Japan App Store availability with English UI. Full Japanese UI localization is planned for the next major release.

Your custom items are kept. The antibody screen label adapts to each region's terminology. The legal disclaimer addendum has been strengthened to name the regulator in each country and clarify that KidneyKind is a personal record-keeping tool.

If you live in Canada, the app now defaults to Canadian conventions: - Lab values shown in SI units: mmol/L for creatinine, urea, potassium, and phosphorus; g/L for hemoglobin and albumin. - Transplant journey references the Canadian Transplant Registry, administered by Canadian Blood Services. - Resources section now includes Canadian kidney organizations: Kidney Foundation of Canada, Can-SOLVE CKD Network, Canadian Society of Nephrology, and Canadian Blood Services Organ Donation. - Home news feed pulls from Canadian outlets like CBC, Globe and Mail, CTV, and provincial health authorities, alongside international research. - Recipes carry a note about US measurements so you know to adapt them for your region. A new Region setting lives in onboarding and in Settings, About You. You can switch units and content focus at any time without losing your data. For US patients, nothing changes. Your existing setup is preserved and continues to work exactly as before. Phase 1 covers Canada. Support for the UK, Ireland, and Australia is in development.
