Nearby alerts now work when CardCue Pro is closed. This release is mostly one promise, kept: walk into a store where you have money sitting on a card, and your phone tells you — without you opening the app first. • Alerts on a closed app. iOS wakes CardCue Pro in the background when you reach a store, and the alert fires from there. Fifteen builds of real drive testing went into that sentence. • Store hours are respected. A card tied to a brand with hours stays quiet until the store is actually open. Grocery runs 5am–11pm, pharmacy 7am–11pm, fuel and travel any hour. • An expiring card outranks the clock. If it runs out soon, you hear about it even outside the usual window for its category. • Cards we couldn't identify now behave like the rest. An unrecognized brand used to wait ten minutes before it would alert. It alerts on arrival now. • One alert per place. Two cards for the same store no longer name the place twice. • Three new Lock Screen accessories, with the brand on the circular one. • Edit Card fits its three controls on one row under the card. Accounts and Pro • Forgot password. We'll email a reset link, with a cooldown so you can't spam it. • Resend the confirmation email if the first one never arrived. • CardCue remembers whether you signed up with Apple or with an email and password, and tells you which to use — no more "wrong password" on an account that never had one. • Mistyped an email address? You'll get a "did you mean…" suggestion. • Clearer Pro status: when a trial ends, when a subscription renews, and "paid once, nothing renews" for lifetime. • Restore Purchases now says what happened instead of failing quietly. Easier to read in dark mode • The toolbar icons, the Done and Save buttons and your wallet total were hard to read against black. They're lighter now, and meet accessibility contrast standards. Sending a card as a gift • When a card can't be sent, CardCue tells you why instead of hiding the button. Usually it's a store we don't recognize yet — tap "Right brand?", pick it on the map, and the card is sendable straight away. Fixes • Signing out left the previous account's home and work addresses and quiet zones on the device, where the next account to sign in inherited them. • Card photos stay on your device for good, and come back the right way up. • Deleting a card now takes its receipt prompt and roll-up alerts with it. • Apple Watch keeps barcode images across a relaunch. • The register screen no longer guesses at a barcode it couldn't read. • "Macy's" was being matched as a pharmacy. • Weekend hours could remove hours from a brand's schedule. They can only add now. • Four paths that could lose card data if a save was interrupted are closed. • Settings used to say alerts stop if you swipe the app out of the app switcher. That was wrong — they keep working. Corrected. • Traditional Chinese has had its first review pass. No ads. No cross-app tracking. Card photos stay on your device unless you turn on cloud scanning yourself.

A big one this time. Most of it is what you asked for. NEARBY REMINDERS THAT ACTUALLY STICK The whole point of me is a quiet nudge when you walk near a store where your money is waiting. That nudge now survives restarts, reboots, and me being closed for days. Cards remember where their store is from the moment you save them, and if you save one while standing near its store, the first chirp (my word for a notification) can arrive while the card is still warm. I also got much better at recognizing the stores themselves. The one named after its neighborhood, the franchise with an owner's name in front, the theater with a screen count after it: all of those used to slip past me. They do not now. A MAP OF WHERE YOUR MONEY IS Open the map and every place you have credit is a pin wearing that store's own logo. Tap one and I add up everything waiting for you at that location, in a single panel, with a mark on anything close to expiring. Directions are one more tap. YOU PICK HOW A CARD GETS READ A new switch sits right on the camera: smart scan, which reads the card with cloud AI, or on-device, which keeps the photo on your iPhone. It resets to your default every scan, and the info button explains the trade. Free wallets get 5 smart scans to start you off. On-device scanning stays unlimited and free forever, and Pro makes smart scan unlimited too. When the free smart scans run out I say so BEFORE you take the photo and ask which way you want to go, instead of quietly downgrading. I ALSO STOPPED READING THE WRONG CARD If another card is lying next to the one you are photographing, its barcode no longer ends up on your card. And if the two photos you hand me turn out to be two different cards, I use the one you meant instead of blending them into one. A wrong barcode is worse than no barcode, so when I cannot tell, I say so instead of guessing. CARDS FROM YOUR EMAIL, WITHOUT THE ERRAND Most people's first gift card is not in a drawer, it is in their inbox. When you add a card, I can walk you through pulling one straight out of Mail: search "gift card", share the email to me, done. (I cannot read your email. You pick what to send, one message at a time.) CARDS THAT WORK AT SEVERAL STORES GOT SMARTER Each brand logo now shows its alert state at a glance: full color means chirp me here, faded means stay quiet. You choose which ones speak up, in the card's editor. Tap any brand in the strip to find that store near you. And you can crown a different brand as the card's headline, colors and all. SLIDING A CARD IS DELIBERATE NOW Hold a card for a beat, feel the tap, then slide left or right for its actions. Scrolling never fights you anymore: touch anywhere, move up or down, and the wallet just scrolls. I ASK FOR LESS, LATER No wall of permission screens at install. Past the camera the scanner needs, my only two asks, notifications and location, wait until your first card is already saved, when saying yes visibly does something for you. Answer one and I stop asking about it. The motion access some of you were asked about is gone unless you turn on Driving Priority in Settings yourself. And my one question about anonymous usage numbers waits until the fourth day you open me, with a card already saved: it is off unless you say yes, "no" is a real button, and I only ask once. AND THE SMALL THINGS Your wallet total is always readable: it grows and shrinks so the whole number fits, and never gets cut off. Cards arrive wearing their brand's colors instead of picking them up later. Your saved card photos show the store's logo. Coach Cue's thoughts are readable in dark mode. Editing a card only asks about discarding when something would actually be lost. Dozens of fixes underneath, most of them from your reports. Keep the feedback coming. Settings, then Send Feedback. You talked. I listened. Most of this update is your fault, and I mean that as a compliment. READING YOUR CARDS, PROPERLY The big one. I got noticeably better at reading a card you hand me. - I no longer mistake the store that SOLD a card for the store it spends at. A card bought off a rack somewhere carries that shop's stock code, and I used to fall for it. I do not anymore. - I spot a magnetic stripe now, and I tell you. If the value lives on the stripe, your phone cannot stand in for the plastic at the register, and you deserve to know that before you are standing there. - I stopped grabbing a PIN off some other number already printed on the card. - Cards that work at several related stores land in the right place. - Two photos of the same card now make the read better instead of worse. Which, yes, is how it should have worked the first time. WHEN I DO NOT KNOW SOMETHING, I SAY SO I used to show a confident $0.00 on cards whose balance I had never actually read. That is not a balance, that is a guess wearing a suit. Now it says the balance is not set, and it stays that way until you or the store tells me otherwise. YOUR OLDER CARDS CAN CATCH UP Everything above only helped cards you scanned AFTER the update, which is a strange kind of progress. So Settings can now re-check the cards you already saved, using what I have learned since. It only ever moves a card toward "bring the plastic", never away from it, because being wrong in that direction is the one that leaves you stuck at a register. THE SMALL THINGS YOU TOLD ME ABOUT - Buttons you could not see. Several of you reported this and you were all looking at the same invisible thing. - Adding a card you already had showed a blank panel instead of asking. - The first screens introduce me properly now. I was showing up on page two like you already knew who I was. - Your first saved card no longer arrives with three warnings attached. - Small iPhones: the welcome screens fit on the screen. - Brand marks show up beside each store on a multi-store card. And a reminder, because it is still new: the Apple Watch app is free on every plan. So is keeping your wallet backed up. Three cards free, the whole app, no trial timer. Keep telling me what to fix. The Apple Watch app is free for everyone. Your cards on your wrist used to require Pro. Not anymore. If you're on a free account, just open CardCue on your iPhone once and your cards show up on your Watch. There's no Watch update to install. Free now means the whole app: AI scanning, location chirps (a nudge when you're near a store where your money is waiting), the Watch app, widgets, and cloud backup, for up to 3 cards. Pro is what it should have been all along: unlimited cards, restoring your wallet onto a new phone, and Family Sharing. Shorter version if you'd rather keep it to a few lines:

Face ID that stops asking twice. If the app asked for Face ID again right after you had already passed it, that is fixed. It could happen when you came back after being away a while: the unlock succeeded, then the lock screen returned and asked again. It no longer does. Also in this update: • Turning the app lock off in Settings now turns it off everywhere. Opening a card's details to see the number or PIN no longer runs its own separate check. • If you have just proved it is you, revealing a card at the register trusts that instead of asking again. • The community numbers in Settings are down to two that are easy to read at a glance: cards tracked, and cards shared.
