I use this in pre-pro with the DP when we're going through reference stills — EL Zone makes it really easy to point at a shadow or a highlight and get aligned on what we're actually chasing. Saves a lot of back-and-forth on the day.Can't wait for EL Zone running on a live Apple Log signal in the camera mode — that's going to be a game changer for on-set work. For now it's already earned a spot in my prep workflow.

Been beta testing this for a while now and have used it across a handful of different sets. Really changed how I communicate with my crew on set — I can pull up a false color reference and have an actual conversation about where I want the exposure to land so we’re all on the same page compared to our reference image exposures.

Saw this on threads and so happy i did. Every time i wanted to look at false color for a movie i had to use a plug in i got from davinci which is cool but then you can’t easily save or reference it later. Love that i can organize it all in app and move the saves around. Will be using a bunch on my next film.

The biggest update to Exposure Check yet. Recalibrated exposure engine • Zone and False Color overlays now follow the exact Apple Log curve — every zone lines up with true scene stops. • Tap anywhere for a zone readout and a recommended f-stop. • Simulated IRIS: preview any aperture and get a recommendation to place your subject at 18% gray. • New ISO steps (250 / 500) for finer exposure control. A smoother, cleaner app • Overlays renamed to simply "Zone" and "False Color," with clearer readouts. • Project photos now open full screen on iPad and swipe smoothly between images — just like the Photo tab. • Faster thumbnails and browsing throughout. • New What's New screen and About section with quick access to support. Reminder: true Zone readings require a LOG image from a camera. iPhones Pro models with Apple log are capable of this. On graded or imported images, overlays are for reference only based on the final grade.
