Emoji search now works reliably. If a file name contains an emoji, you can search for it by that emoji and find the file every time — even when the emoji was typed differently from how it was saved .
2.4.0 1d ago
You can now hide the recent files list. When the search bar is empty, AnySearch shows your 20 most recent files — handy for some, clutter for others. Turn it off under Settings → General → Results → Show recent files for a clean, empty start. It stays on by default, so nothing changes unless you want it to.
Also in this release:
• The help icon next to the Content toggle now opens its explanation on click, so the tip is easy to find instead of relying on hover.
2.3.0 Jun 25
- **Search a folder straight from Finder** — right-click any folder, choose **Services → Search in AnySearch**, and the search is instantly scoped to that folder. Works even for folders outside your regular index: AnySearch indexes them on demand, independently of (and without slowing) the main background index. Keep your index focused on a few folders and reach the rest only when you need to.
- **Accurate folder scoping** — when a search is limited to a folder, results now stay strictly within that folder and its subfolders. Sibling folders that share a name prefix (for example, scoping to `Documents` no longer leaks results from `Documents2`) are correctly excluded.
2.2.0 Jun 24
• Filename wildcards in the search bar — use * and ? for patterns like *report.pdf, ??report, *.p?f
• iCloud Drive files are now indexed (on by default; can be disabled under Settings → Index → Index iCloud Drive)
• Fixed Chinese IME: spacebar candidate selection no longer triggers QuickLook in the Quick Search panel
• Custom Quick Scopes: manage the Folder dropdown under Settings → Index → Quick Scopes
• Excluded Names settings now persist correctly across launches
• Toolbar refinements: clearer labels and tooltips for the Folder / Disk dropdowns; Disk hides automatically when no external drives are connected
• Help tooltip on the Content search toggle
• Completed Chinese localization across the app
2.1.0 Jun 20
使用 App Store 兑换码后应用有时不会解锁,即使重启也无法恢复。现在兑换、恢复购买会主动与 App Store 同步,购买/兑换后立即解锁;
(Quick Scopes) -
工具栏术语调整(Scope→文件夹、Volume→磁盘),无外接磁盘时自动隐藏「磁盘」
2.0.1 Jun 19
This major release adds full search support for external drives and fixes a long-standing issue where custom index folders were lost after restarting the app.
External Disk Search
• USB and Thunderbolt drives are detected automatically — authorize once and the drive is indexed in the background
• Local and external files appear together; the toolbar lets you switch between All, Local Only, and a specific drive
• Indexes are kept when a drive is unplugged and incrementally refreshed when it returns
• Renamed or remounted drives are recognized and the index is migrated automatically
• Settings › Index now has an External Disks section for per-drive rescan and remove
Fixes
• Custom index folders now persist across app restarts. If you lost folders in an earlier version, please re-add them in Settings › Index — they will stick from now on.• External-drive
search is available immediately on launch instead of waiting for the home scan to finish
• Volume list and file counts in Settings load faster and update more smoothly
• Default exclusions extended to common dev caches: .docker, .npm, .cargo, .gradle, .cocoapods
Other
• "Choose Folder..." in the filter toolbar now persists across restarts
• Stability improvements around drive mount, unmount, and authorization
