Every time you post a photo of your baby on social media, you're contributing to a permanent, searchable biometric record of a person who never consented to it.
Hearts Not Faces gives you a way out.
Open your Photos app, select a photo, tap share, and choose Hearts Not Faces. In seconds, your infant's face is permanently erased - not blurred (which can be reversed by AI) but actually destroyed at the pixel level. Then share directly to Instagram or save to your Hearts Not Faces album.
Everything happens on your iPhone. Your photos never leave your device. No account. No server. No data collected.
WHAT IT DOES
- Detects faces automatically using Apple's Vision framework
- Erases faces permanently — pixels destroyed, not blurred
- Strips GPS coordinates and location metadata by default
- Saves protected photos to a dedicated album
- Lets you tap any missed faces to protect them manually
- Lets you choose which faces to protect and which to keep
HONEST ABOUT LIMITATIONS
- Cannot protect photos already shared without the app
- Cannot protect photos sent via WhatsApp or iMessage where the original is transmitted
- May occasionally miss very small or partially hidden faces - we show a warning and let you fix it manually

What's new in 1.2
- Face regions now show a preview of how they'll look in your final photo — hearts appear as hearts, mosaic appears as mosaic, right in the detection screen
- Added a dashed yellow outline around each protected region so it's clear at a glance what's being hidden
- Renamed the action button to "Erase selections" to better reflect that you can protect any area, not just detected faces
