Record screen, camera, phone screen, and audio. Portrait video, live layout and audio shortcuts while recording, and spoken Frame Coach guidance make tutorials clear. Record tutorials, product demos, lessons, presentations, and narrated explanations on your Mac. FrameMate is an accessibility-first local Mac recorder that brings screen, camera, and audio into one focused workflow. WHAT YOU CAN RECORD • SCREEN AND WINDOW RECORDING Capture your full display or a single window as a 1080p MP4. Use it for lessons, onboarding, product walkthroughs, and presentations. • SCREEN + CAMERA Place your camera over the screen, and set the overlay position and size to make your explanation more personal. • PHONE SCREEN Record the screen of an iPhone or iPad connected by cable. Add the phone's sound and hear it through the Mac, add a camera box; keep the phone's aspect ratio, or choose standard portrait, landscape, or side by side with your camera. • CAMERA OR AUDIO Record landscape camera video or 1080×1920 portrait video for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok. Record the microphone, system audio, and a connected phone's sound, separately or together. Choose automatic, mono, or stereo microphone channels. TOOLS FOR CLEAR EXPLANATIONS • Add microphone and optional system audio to screen recordings, with separate volume controls. • Highlight the cursor and clicks so viewers can follow every step. • While recording, change the layout with a shortcut: full-screen camera, full-screen screen or phone, or the default layout. Turn the microphone, system audio, or phone sound on or off without stopping. Cmd+Option+B speaks the status from any app. • Pause and resume without losing the recording timeline. • Open the finished file, rename it, reveal it in Finder, or copy it elsewhere with Save As. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE RECORDING • A switch whose source is not ready says so instead of turning on silently: no phone on the cable, no microphone found, a missing permission. The warning is shown, read by VoiceOver, and marked on the live shortcut button. • If the captured screen or window turns completely black — a transparent, minimized, or non-drawing window — you are warned while the recording is still running. • A shortcut that cannot act says why. FRAME COACH Frame Coach gives spoken guidance to help keep your face in frame. Adjust automatic reframing, directional tones, center confirmation, on-screen text, feedback frequency, and repeat interval. It helps you set up the camera without constantly checking the preview. SETTINGS FOR YOUR WORKFLOW • Choose a countdown, unlimited recording, a maximum duration, a custom 5-second-to-60-minute limit, and an end-of-recording warning. • Choose recording start, stop, pause, and resume sounds, plus elapsed-time announcements and their frequency. • Hide the app window when recording starts, bring it back when recording stops, run in the Dock or menu bar, and launch at login. • Choose the default recording folder. Your latest recording setup, including the phone video layout, is remembered for the next session. • Open optional keyboard shortcuts, Quick Help, and Help, Privacy, and Terms links from Settings. ACCESSIBILITY FrameMate is designed with VoiceOver and keyboard use in mind. Recording start, pause, error, and completion states are announced live, even while FrameMate is in the background. Frame Coach provides spoken framing feedback for blind and low-vision creators. The optional global-shortcut feature requests macOS Accessibility permission only when enabled; the core recording workflow does not require it. PRIVACY Recordings are processed and saved locally on your Mac. FrameMate requires no account, cloud upload, advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. ACCESS AND PRO Start without an account. The first 7 days include unlimited local recording. After that, choose FrameMate Pro to keep recording — a one-time lifetime purchase, a yearly auto-renewable subscription, or a monthly auto-renewable subscription. Restore Purchases is included.
