OnTrain makes train station pickups effortless by pushing real-time Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), Metro-North (MNR), and NJ Transit (NJT) trip data directly to both the rider and the driver's iPhone lock screens and other devices.
Whether you're coordinating a pickup with a partner or tracking your own commute, OnTrain puts live train arrivals where you actually need them.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Both rider and driver download OnTrain and pair their devices (No partner? Select "Solo mode" in Settings)
2. The rider selects their train and taps "Notify Partner"
3. The driver instantly receives live arrival updates on their lock screen,
Dynamic Island, Apple Watch, and CarPlay — no need to open the app

DESIGNED FOR PICKUPS
Stop wasting time with complicated transit apps that aren't designed for
pickups. OnTrain facilitates coordination between train riders and their
family, friends, or spouses, making the entire pickup process seamless.
Built by a real commuting couple from Long Island who got tired of texting and looking up train arrivals.
OnTrain is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by NJ Transit (NJT) the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the Long Island Rail Road, or Metro-North Railroad. Train data is sourced from public data feeds.
- Better Dynamic Island for solo trips: pre-departure now shows a live countdown on the leading side and your departure time on the
trailing side.
- Share OnTrain: new Share button in Settings with a built-in QR code for friends.
- Smoother arrival detection: Live Activities are more reliable during the final minutes before your stop.
- Tap to review: you'll get a gentle prompt to leave a review after a completed trip (you can dismiss it).
- Updated terms & privacy to reflect NJ Transit data sources.
