Encrypted folders, done right — encryption is now inherited by subfolders, so everything inside a protected folder stays encrypted. Setting a password, changing it, removing encryption, importing, restoring a backup and moving phrases in or out are all atomic: if a step can't complete, nothing is changed and Text Preset tells you why. Confidential folders protect nested content too — phrases in a subfolder stay hidden and are kept out of search results and plain exports. Safer exports — phrases from a locked encrypted folder are no longer exported as empty text. They're skipped and reported, so you can unlock the folder and export again with everything included. Better search — it now finds phrases inside unlocked encrypted folders and matches short names (aliases) too. Fixes — restoring a folder from Trash brings back only what was trashed with it; a phrase with several Apple Intelligence variables no longer gets stuck; cancelling the password screen turns the encryption switch back off; shared folder names reach invited people reliably; the free-phrase limit is applied consistently across the app, the keyboard and the share sheet; cursor placement after {{@cursor}} is exact with emoji; the keyboard's filter screen is fully translated; and imports no longer land in a folder that sits in the Trash. Background stability — fixed a class of rare crashes where iOS could terminate Text Preset while it was syncing in the background. Sync maintenance now runs under a background-safe assertion and prunes its change history far less often, avoiding the database lock that caused the terminations. Appearance setting — Settings now includes an app theme picker with System, Light, and Dark options, so you can keep Text Preset in the mode you prefer. Dark mode polish — the New Folder action in the add menu now uses an adaptive elevated background and border, making it readable against the dark overlay. Shared Folders for teams (Pro) — create a folder, invite teammates over iCloud, and choose View (Reader) or Edit (Editor) access. Shared folders sync phrases, subfolders, and tags across everyone's devices and appear right alongside your personal folders, in both the app and the custom keyboard. Manage Shared Folders from Settings → Shared Folders. You can start a shared folder from scratch or share a copy of an existing folder — your original personal folder always stays private and unchanged. Readers can copy and use phrases but can't edit; the owner can invite people, stop sharing, or delete for everyone (with confirmation). Requires an iCloud account. Under the hood, your existing data is safer than ever: personal phrases now live in a dedicated private store that is never automatically erased on a sync/migration error, while shared content uses a separate store — so a sharing hiccup can never touch your personal library. Better first launch after reinstall — Text Preset now always prepares your starter phrases before sending you to keyboard setup. Onboarding appears first, fills the library with standard phrases and your selected starter pack, then shows the steps for adding the custom keyboard. A reinstall could previously open straight into keyboard setup while the local phrase library was still empty. That flow is fixed, so new and returning users start with useful phrases ready to try. Accessibility improvements — Text Preset is now easier to use with VoiceOver and larger text sizes. Phrase rows, folders, tags, charts, statistics, achievements, QR codes, editor controls, and the custom keyboard now have clearer labels, values, and hints for assistive technologies. Apple Intelligence reliability — Smart Rewrite now uses structured on-device generation for cleaner variants, AI Generate handles unavailable models without inserting empty text or raw template tokens, and the keyboard keeps `{{@ai=...}}` generation working with a safer fallback. Color labels for phrases — long-press any phrase and choose Color Label (Pro) to mark it with one of 10 colors. A thin colored strip on the left edge of each phrase row makes it easy to spot at a glance, in both the app and the custom keyboard. Fixed a bug where all phrases would temporarily disappear after creating a new phrase, especially after a long time without using the app or after an update. Time saved teaser for everyone — the Statistics screen is now open to all users. Free users see a prominent "≈ 14m of typing saved" card (updated per selected period) and a clear upgrade prompt to unlock the full breakdown. Pro users see everything as before, with the time-saved card now displayed first as the hero metric. Encrypted folders — protect any folder with a password. Phrases inside are encrypted with AES-256-GCM so the content is unreadable without the key. Enter the password once per device and it stays unlocked — no need to re-enter it every time you open the app. On a new device, enter the password manually to access the folder there too. The custom keyboard decrypts phrases directly, so your encrypted content works everywhere Text Preset does. QR Code for any phrase — long-press a phrase and choose QR Code to generate a scannable code. Share the image via AirDrop, Messages, or save it to Photos. Full data backup — Settings → Data → Backup All Data exports everything: phrases, folders (with colours), tags (with colours), custom lists, global properties, and counters — all in one JSON file. Restore from Backup merges the backup with your existing library, so nothing is overwritten. AirDrop folder sharing — the Share button in a folder's context menu now sends a JSON file instead of a deep link. Larger collections transfer reliably, and the file can be opened with Files or imported into any folder. Recursive folder export — exporting a folder now includes all its subfolders. Subfolder paths are preserved in the JSON so the structure is restored on import. Richer Statistics — the Statistics screen has six new sections: usage graphs by day and month, top tags, top folders, and most-used variables. A period picker (7 days / 30 days / all time) scopes every chart at once. Export statistics three ways — tap Share in Statistics to choose between a plain-text summary, a CSV file with your full insertion history, or a rendered statistics card you can save to Photos or send to anyone. UUID variable — {{@uuid}} generates a unique UUID every time the phrase is copied. Useful for ticket IDs, reference numbers, or any field that needs a fresh unique value. Random Emoji variable — {{@emoji=category}} picks a random emoji from one of eight categories: Faces, Animals, Food & Drink, Nature, Travel, Sports, Hearts, and Celebration. Keyboard Search — tap the magnifying glass in the keyboard header to search your phrase library. Results appear as phrase chips in real time; tap one to insert as usual. Block highlighting — conditional blocks are now highlighted in orange in both the phrase list and the editor, so you can see at a glance which parts are optional. Paired block deletion — removing a {{@blockstart}} or {{@blockend}} marker now automatically deletes the matching half. Easier New button — the + button now opens a menu with two clearly labelled options: New Phrase and New Folder. Custom keyboard height — in Settings, toggle Custom Keyboard Height and dial in the exact height in 10 pt increments. Phrase font size — in Settings → Keyboard Settings, use the Phrase Font Size stepper to set chip text size from 11 to 21 pt (default 15 pt). Help section — Settings now has a Help group with a Support Center screen: links to the support page, FAQ, a Contact Us button that opens a pre-filled email, and an About section showing the app version, Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions. Variable highlighting in the editor — variables like {{@date}}, {{name}}, and {{@counter=n}} are now highlighted in the phrase editor: coloured text and a tinted background make it easy to see at a glance where variables are and where plain text begins. Edit variables in place — tap a highlighted variable token in the phrase editor to select it, then choose "Change" from the edit menu. The right editor opens pre-filled with the variable's current settings: offset and format for date/time tokens, existing options for pickers, the counter name, AI prompt, and so on. Make your edits and confirm — the token is replaced in place without losing the rest of your phrase. Confidential Folders — mark any folder as confidential when creating or editing it. All phrases inside a confidential folder are automatically treated as protected: they show blurred in the list, require Face ID / passcode to view or edit, and are excluded from sharing and export by default. A lock icon appears next to the folder name in the list. Confidential phrase protection — sharing or exporting a confidential phrase now requires confirmation and Face ID / passcode authentication. When batch-exporting or exporting a folder that contains confidential phrases, you can choose to include them (requires authentication), exclude them automatically, or cancel the export entirely. Picker, Random Pick, and Multi-Select variables — values are now entered through a dedicated list editor instead of a single semicolon-separated text field. Add, reorder, and delete items one by one before inserting. The resulting token in your phrase stays exactly the same. Paste image from clipboard — while editing a phrase, paste an image directly from the clipboard. Phrase Statistics — tap "View Statistics" in any phrase's context menu (Pro) to see how often and when that specific phrase was used. The detail screen shows total insertions for the selected period, a daily activity chart, characters saved, and when it was last used. Image Snippets (Pro) — attach an image to any phrase: company logo, QR code, signature, or anything else. Open any phrase in the editor, tap "Image Attachment" at the bottom, and choose from your photo library. In the phrase list you'll see a small photo icon next to phrases that have an image. Long-press a phrase to access "Copy Image" from the context menu, or tap "Copy" to copy text as usual (image-only phrases copy the image directly). In the keyboard, tapping an image-only phrase copies the image to the clipboard so you can paste it anywhere. Search — tap the search button at the bottom of the screen to search your phrase library. The list filters in real time as you type. Tap Cancel to dismiss. Works across all folders and alongside tag filters. Smart Onboarding — on first launch, a new screen asks "What will you use it for?" with four choices: Work, Support, Study, and Personal. Picking one adds a curated starter pack on top of the default phrases so the library is immediately useful. Tapping Skip loads the standard starter phrases, exactly as before. 10 New Template Packs — added Real Estate, E-commerce, Freelance & Invoicing, Legal & Contracts, Content Creator, Project Management, Fitness & Coaching, Travel & Hospitality, Family & School, and Finance & Accounting. Folders — organize your phrases into folders. Tap + → New Folder to create one, then move any phrase into it from its context menu. Inside a folder, the back button takes you straight back to all phrases. In the keyboard, folders appear as pills at the top of the phrase grid — tap one to navigate in, tap the back pill to go up a level. Template pack import (Pro) places all phrases into a folder named after the pack. Smarter Smart Spacing — when Smart Spacing is on and the existing text already has line breaks, the phrase is now inserted on a new line instead of with a space. Plain text gets a space as before. Batch Actions — select multiple phrases at once and act on all of them in one tap. Hit Select in the top-right corner, tap phrases to check them, then use the action bar at the bottom to delete, add a tag, move to a folder, or export the selection. Select All / Deselect All is in the top-right. Tap Cancel to leave selection mode. Folder Trash — deleting a folder now moves it (and all its contents) to Trash, just like phrases. Restore the whole folder with a swipe to get everything back, or permanently delete it. Folders stay in Trash for 30 days before being automatically removed. Tag fixes — renaming or recolouring a tag now immediately updates everywhere: phrase rows, the tag filter sheet, and the phrase editor. Trash — deleted phrases are no longer gone forever. They move to a Trash bin in Settings and are automatically removed after 30 days. Restore a phrase with a swipe, or empty the trash entirely with one tap. Delete After — set an expiry date on any phrase right from its context menu. When the date arrives, the phrase moves to Trash automatically — whether you open the app or just use the keyboard. Confidential Phrases (Pro) — mark any phrase as confidential to hide its content. Confidential phrases show only the alias (if set) or blurred text. Tap to unlock with Face ID or passcode — once unlocked, all confidential phrases are revealed for the session. In the keyboard, unlock works the same way when Full Access is enabled. Character counter — the phrase editor now shows a live character count above the {} button. Handy when writing for Twitter (280) or SMS (160). Spotlight Search — find any phrase right from iOS Spotlight. Search by text or tag, tap a result, and it's instantly copied to your clipboard — no need to open the app. Abbreviation Expansion — for iPad and iPhone with a Bluetooth keyboard. While Text Preset keyboard is active, type a phrase alias and space to auto-insert the full phrase. Set alias ;sig on your signature, type ;sig + space, and the full text appears instantly. Works with variables, blocks, and phrase references. Enable in Settings → Abbreviation Expansion. iCloud sync for Custom Lists, Properties, and Counters — these now sync automatically across all your devices via iCloud. Custom Lists and Properties merge by item ID, so no data is lost if you have different items on different devices. Counters always take the highest value across devices, so they never go backwards. Home Screen Quick Actions — long-press the Text Preset icon to access shortcuts: "New Phrase" opens the editor immediately, "Copy Last Phrase" copies your most recently used phrase straight to the clipboard without opening the app. Siri & Shortcuts — say "Copy [phrase name] in Text Preset" and Siri copies the phrase straight to your clipboard without opening the app. All your phrases appear as actions in Shortcuts.app — build automations, use them in workflows, trigger them from the Lock Screen or Apple Watch. AI Generate — use {{@ai=write a birthday greeting}} and Apple Intelligence generates fresh text every time you copy. Any prompt works: a one-liner, a translation, a subject line rewrite. Requires Pro + Apple Intelligence (iOS 26+). Counter — use {{@counter=ticket}} to auto-number things. Each use increments the counter by 1 from wherever it left off: Ticket #1, Ticket #2, and so on. Works in both the app and the keyboard. Counter state is shared across devices. Counter Management — see all your counters in Settings → Counters. Reset any counter back to 0, set it to a specific number, or delete it entirely. Statistics now actually track everything — copies made directly from the app were previously not counted at all. All insertions are now logged regardless of how you copy. Time saved now shows seconds instead of "under 1 min" — so even your first few phrases show a real number (e.g. "30s saved" instead of nothing useful). New Daily Activity chart in Statistics — see which days you were most active. Available for the 7-day and 30-day views. Streak achievements fixed — a streak achievement could be permanently missed if the app wasn't open on the exact peak day. Now your best-ever streak is used for unlocking, so nothing gets lost.
