Block Metrics is a simple, fast toolkit for pilots. Six essential tools in one app:
- Flight Time Calculator: Add up flight times in HH:MM format across up to 13 rows. Hours support 4 digits for pilots with thousands of hours. Your entries are saved automatically and survive an app restart.
- Fuel Calculator: Switch between Convert mode (Lbs, Kg, Liters, US Gallons) and Uplift mode (Required − Remaining = Uplift, shown in all four units). Choose Jet A-1, Jet A, or Avgas — or enter the real-time density from your fuel slip.
- Weather: Pull live METAR and TAF for any airport worldwide, sourced from NOAA's Aviation Weather Center. Each report is automatically decoded into wind, visibility, clouds, temperature, dewpoint, and altimeter, with the raw text shown alongside.
- Crosswind Calculator: Enter wind direction, wind speed, and runway heading to get crosswind and headwind/tailwind components instantly. Or pick an airport and tap a runway end to auto-fill the actual magnetic heading.
- Distance & Flight Planning: Three tools in one tab — great-circle Distance between any two airports with estimated flight time, Top of Descent for in-flight planning, and Nearest Airports for diversion. 5,713 airports across 200+ countries.
- Unit Converter: Convert Speed (Knots, km/h, mph), Altitude (Feet, Meters), Pressure (hPa, inHg), and Temperature (°C, °F).
