Lock your addictive apps. Dance to unlock them. A screen time app that actually works - because tapping "Ignore Limit" isn't exactly willpower.
You know the problem. You pick up your phone to check one thing and 45 minutes later you're deep in reels you don't even like. Screen time limits? You tap "Ignore" every single time. We all do.
Thumka fixes this with a simple idea: before you can open your most addictive apps, you have to do a 5-second Bollywood dance move. That's it. Just enough friction to break the autopilot - and just ridiculous enough that you'll think twice about whether you really need to open Instagram right now.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Pick the apps you want to lock (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube - you know which ones)
2. When you try to open them, Thumka blocks the app and gives you a random dance move
3. Follow the hook step for 5 seconds to unlock
4. Your apps stay open for a grace period you set (30 min, 1 hour, whatever you want)
5. When the timer runs out, apps lock again until your next dance
Not feeling a dance? Too ashamed to do it in public? Close your eyes for 15 seconds instead. Still more effort than tapping "Ignore Limit."

WHY IT WORKS
Research shows that adding even a few seconds of friction to a habit dramatically reduces how often you do it. Thumka adds 5 seconds of fun friction — just enough to make you pause and ask "do I actually need this right now?" Half the time, the answer is no, and you put your phone down. That's the whole trick.

Thumka uses Apple's Screen Time API to lock apps. Your choice of which apps to block is stored locally on your device as an encrypted token - Thumka itself never sees the list.
