iPad
Live Tempest data on your iPad. Mission-control style dashboard, 24/7 wall-display ready, with named conditions, alerts, and full control over your data.
Atmos Console turns your iPad into a real-time environmental observatory for your Tempest weather station. Built for clarity and 24/7 operation, it’s designed for wall-mounted displays, home weather stations, and anyone who wants mission-control–style visibility into live conditions.
Live data, your way
• Connect over your local network: your Tempest hub streams data to the app in real time (UDP broadcast).
• Optional WeatherFlow API: add a Personal Access Token for history backfill, gap repair, and a safety net when local UDP is unavailable.
• All observation history is stored only on your device. Choose how long to keep it (90 days, 1 year, 2 years, or indefinitely) and export it as CSV — or delete it — anytime.
Dashboard at a glance
• Large, readable telemetry: temperature, wind speed and direction, pressure, humidity, solar, UV, rain, and lightning.
• Wind rose: see how wind direction and speed have varied over the last 3, 6, 12, 24, or 72 hours, with playback and a custom date range.
• Telemetry strips with synchronized cross-strip cursor for correlating temperature, pressure, wind, humidity, solar, and rain at any moment in your history.
• Conditions panel: a calm, append-only log of detected weather events — frontal passages, clearing, sustained wind, lightning episodes, heat stress, fog, and named regional phenomena (sea breeze, marine layer, foehn / chinook, dryline, Santa Ana, Diablo, Nor’easter, Southerly Buster). An on-device Core ML classifier broadens pattern detection beyond what rule-based logic alone can catch. On iPads with Apple Intelligence (iPad Pro M1 or later, iPad Air M1 or later, iPad mini 7th gen), when two classifications are close, Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework picks between the top candidates using summarized sensor readings only — it does not generate narration. All analysis stays on-device — your observations never leave your iPad.
• Daily pattern summary and station records (highs, lows, peak gust, etc.) so you can recognize what’s typical at your site.
Built for always-on
• Optional Keep Screen On for wall or kiosk use on iPad.
• Slow pixel-shift burn-in mitigation for 24/7 displays.
• Calm, stable layout with no flashing, no sudden modal popups, and no distracting animations.
• Mission-control style boot sequence with explicit live / degraded / stale / offline states — never blank without explanation.
• Local alert notifications (optional) for lightning, severe wind, and rain start, with per-category controls.
Privacy and control
• No account required for local UDP.
• Personal Access Token and station identifiers are stored only on your device (token in the system keychain).
• Observation history, retention, CSV export, and local delete are entirely under your control and explained in onboarding and Settings.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs.
Requires a Tempest weather station on your Wi‑Fi. For API history and backfill, a WeatherFlow Personal Access Token is optional. iPad is used in landscape for the wall-display experience. Apple Intelligence narration requires iPad Pro (M1 or later), iPad Air (M1 or later), or iPad mini (7th gen). See your device’s App Store listing for compatibility and age rating.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
A clearer wind instrument, a Conditions panel that shows what's happening now, and confidence on inferred conditions.
NEW
• The wind rose now has a needle, plus a band on the ring showing where the wind came from over the last 10 minutes. The readout under the speed shows the compass point and bearing (SW 233°) and that 10-minute range (VAR 155–266°).
• In landscape, a vertical gauge beside the rose shows the typical wind range and peak gust for the selected time window against the live sustained speed (SUST) and gust. GUST now sits on the gauge rather than under the speed. It replaces the prevailing, mean and steadiness figures.
• Conditions opens with what's happening now, or NO ACTIVE CONDITIONS when nothing is, with today's station records below it (on smaller iPads, recent events come first). Ended events follow, and repeats from the same day share one line marked ×2 or ×3.
• Inferred conditions (marine layer, fog, frontal passage and on-device pattern detection) now show low, medium or high confidence. Measured conditions like rain, wind and lightning don't carry one.
• When the chart window has had no rain, the rain strip shrinks to one line showing how long it's been dry and the last rain's total, and the other strips get the space.
• After an update, a What's New sheet lists the changes.
REFINED
• Conditions shows only whole lines, never a line cut off at the bottom.
• Wind picking up from calm is now titled FRONTAL WIND ONSET instead of FRONTAL WIND SHIFT.
• The ordinary late-afternoon pressure dip no longer turns a marine layer into OVERCAST, and dry breaks between showers read OVERCAST instead of MARINE LAYER.
• All telemetry strips are now the same height.
• A true black background throughout, including sheets and setup, with clearer panel dividers.
• The wind rose and its detail views use your chosen console font.
• Informational rows use a neutral gray dot. Color now means watch or warning.
• CLOSE buttons match DETAIL and INFO, and light up only when pressed.
FIXED
• UNUSUAL PATTERN rows now use your temperature, pressure and wind units, and keep the minus sign on values below typical.
• The wind needle no longer swings the long way around the dial in shifting winds.
• With Sync Cursor on, the strip you're dragging no longer shows its readout twice.
