PHOSPHOR LINK - Drive Apple TVs from your Mac. Install the free Phosphor Stage app on each Apple TV, and every screen draws the scenes itself at its own resolution, in time with your Mac's beat tracker. - Picture only. Link sends a few hundred bytes of audio analysis a frame, never the music. Sound stays on your Mac. - Your look goes with it. Effects, overlays and Reactivity follow the Mac on every screen. - A DELAY slider holds the picture back to meet sound that reaches the room late, such as Bluetooth speakers. - Works on your local network. Apple TVs show up by the room name you give them. - A one-time purchase in Settings, LINK tab. AUTOPILOT - Press AUTO, or R, and Phosphor runs the show. It picks scenes to suit the energy of the music, rides the effects on the beat, and turns the scene and the look over together on a phrase change. - Three drive levels: SUBTLE, RIDE and FULL SEND. Choose how long it holds a scene, from 15 seconds to 5 minutes. - It favours the scenes you have starred and steps aside the moment you pick one yourself. EASIER ON THE EYES - Scenes pulse with the kick again. 1.0.5 made every scene hit much harder, and on a lot of music that came across as harsh strobing. Each hit now swells and fades, and the kick pulse is limited to three a second. - New REACTIVITY setting in Settings, LOOK tab: GENTLE, STANDARD or FULL. GENTLE follows the music without flashing on each hit, and is chosen for you when Reduce Motion is on. TWO NEW SCENES - EMPEG PEAKS: the per-column analyser from the original empeg car stereo. A dim skyline of bars with a bright dot riding each one, thrown up by every hit and caught on the way down. - WARP FEED: a ring drawn by the waveform, pouring down a tunnel made of its own history in the spirit of MilkDrop. Every kick launches a bright ring into it. SCENES - OSCILLOSCOPE, OSCILLORING, LISSAJOUS and VECTORSCOPE leave trails, the way a phosphor screen does. - Bar scenes rest low and reach the top on the peaks, instead of living near the top of the screen. - Around sixty scenes sped up the longer they ran. They hold a steady pace now. - RADAR SCOPE no longer fills with white. The cars in DRIFT look like cars, with headlights that flicker to the music. SPIROGRAPH turns more calmly. FIXES - The menu bar panel opens and closes reliably on macOS 27.

Three new scenes LASER SHOW: a downstage rig of laser heads fanning into haze, one hue at a time, snapping between looks and changing colour on the beat. NEBULA CORE: a solid glowing core inside a swirl of drifting dust that bursts apart on every hit and settles back. RADIOACTIVE: a uranium source in a cloud chamber. Alpha, beta and gamma events fire off it, Geiger crackle on the hats, a Cherenkov blue shift on hard hits. macOS 27 The floating window drags from anywhere on the chassis again. The menu bar item works with the new menu bar: click to open, click or Escape to close, keyboard navigation included. Fixes The floating window could come back the size of the screen after a session in fullscreen. It keeps its own frame now. The scene drawer's last row no longer leaves a bright grey rectangle where it runs short of a full row.

RECORD WHAT YOU ARE WATCHING Hit record and Phosphor captures the visualizer with the system audio already mixed in, straight to ~/Movies/Phosphor Recordings. Choose H.264 for something you can post as-is, or ProRes 422 LT when the clip is going into an edit. Capture at 1080p, 1440p or 4K however big the window is. The scene is rendered at the size you picked, so a small window still gives you a full-resolution clip. Switch on LOOP TO BAR and the take starts on a downbeat and ends on a bar line, so the clip loops against itself with no hitch at the splice. Recordings made in Low Power Mode used to play back at double speed, and long takes could drift out of sync with their audio. Both fixed. SIX NEW SCENES DRIFT: a drift train throwing its tails out on every kick, with smoke off the tyres and the ground leaning into the corner. NEON CORRIDOR: a chrome tunnel of neon gates that flares to a new colour on the beat and speeds up as the track fills out. EQ TABLE: neon lamps orbiting a mirrored black table, reflections and all. NEON EQ: a glowing bar bank running green through blue and purple to pink. WAVE PARTICLES: a white sound line with motes shaken off it. DENSE WAVE: hundreds of hairline strokes mirrored around the centre, dissolving into dashes at the extremes. EVERY SCENE NOW HITS ON THE BEAT Around fifty scenes could not show a transient at all. They moved with the smoothed shape of the music, but nothing popped when the kick landed. They do now. Underneath that, the onset signal every scene uses to detect a hit had been reading near zero. Fixing it lifted the punch across the whole library, including scenes that already looked reactive. BARS, MATRIX and the EMPEG panels brighten on each hit instead of only tracking the spectrum. Scenes used to keep drifting, pulsing and shimmering after the music stopped. They settle now, and start again the moment audio returns. Between two tracks they idle instead of freezing solid, so the gap in a playlist no longer looks like the app has hung. Crossfade can be switched off in Settings → LOOK if you prefer scenes to cut straight over. STABILITY Fixed a crash on launch for anyone using a Bluetooth headset or AirPods as their input device. Phosphor now accepts any input sample rate. Fixed the visualizer freezing when you moved the window between displays or switched Spaces. It also recovers on its own if rendering ever stalls. Various scene tweaks and fixes

* Find any scene, fast — the scene drawer now has a search field; type a name to jump straight to it. * Redesigned Settings — organized into LOOK / AUDIO / PRESETS / RECORD / SYSTEM tabs. * A roomier menu — wider popover with larger controls; a translucent glass finish on the scene drawer on macOS Tahoe. * New About screen — Settings → SYSTEM → About, with version, credits, and links. * Fixes — "Show Welcome Tour" now reliably opens (it could open behind a fullscreen scene or on another display).

This update fixes a crash that could occur on launch or when starting audio capture with certain audio devices.

New scene - HEART — ray-marched 3D heart, asymmetric pump driven by the beat, with a radiating particle field around it. Improvements - A live cyan equalizer now sits in the menu bar reacting to whatever Phosphor is listening to. Click it to open the popover. - Settings → MENU BAR EQ has two toggles: ENABLE (default on) and ANIMATE. Disable ANIMATE to keep the EQ as a static logo if you'd rather nothing in your menu bar move around. Reliability - Phosphor no longer goes silent after the Mac sleeps. The audio feature pipeline now resets correctly on wake, so the visualizer stays in sync with audio after long idle periods. - Render-engine fix that resolves drift and mistimed effects in some scenes.

• Wake-from-sleep fix — the visualizer no longer freezes after your Mac comes back from sleep or screen lock. • Performance — shader rendering is faster across the catalog and scene switches load without a hitch.
