KaView
Read code like a book.
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
You don't need to be a developer. Just curious. Open a real GitHub project, read it like a book, and ask an AI tutor anything. Now in French.
You don't need to be a developer. Just curious.
KaView turns any GitHub project into something you can read. Open a repo and page through it like a book: Markdown is laid out, source is syntax-highlighted, and the file tree becomes chapters you turn with ← →. When a line stops you, select it and ask the tutor — it reads the page with you.
No autoplay, no ads, no algorithm. Just you, real code, and time to understand.
READ
• Clean Markdown and highlighted source, side by side
• The repo becomes chapters — navigate by table of contents or keyboard
• Dozens of languages, rendered for reading
ASK
• An AI tutor that sees what's on screen: "explain this file simply", "what does this word mean?"
• Select a snippet to Explain, Complete, or Refactor it
• On-device with Apple Intelligence (iOS 26+): private, free, offline — or in the cloud with your own OpenAI or Anthropic key
LEARN, EVEN OFFLINE
• A full course included, "Mastering Believe" (MIT license): AI, neural networks, algorithms, system design
• Five ready-made tracks at launch, from "First steps in Python" to "Build an LLM from scratch"
• Courses tab: one tap to download, then everything reads offline — on-device tutor included
• A marketplace of public repos by topic to keep going
EDIT, NOT JUST READ
• Fix a typo, take a note, add a TODO
• Connect GitHub: clone, edit, commit, push without leaving the app
• Your token stays in the iOS Keychain
ON iPHONE AND iPAD
• Native iOS 26 design
• iPad: three columns, Split View, Stage Manager, multiwindow
• Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, external keyboard, VS Code-style shortcuts
PRIVACY
• No account, no ads, no trackers, no data collected
KaView is a reader, a light editor, and a tutor — not an IDE. It doesn't run code: no terminal, no runtime.
iOS 18 minimum. On-device tutor: iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence.
Read a repo. Ask a question. Understand it. That's the whole pitch.
Fix: downloading a course now gives instant feedback. Before, tapping Download showed nothing until it finished — the app felt frozen, especially on large repos. Now a loading indicator appears the moment you tap, and tracks progress (downloading, then extracting files). The Cancel button also truly stops the download now.
