UX improvements

Polls now appear in the room chat, in their place in the conversation. Vote, share or end one without leaving the room. Poll cards show who created them. Tap the name or photo for their profile. Results update live as people vote. The full list of a room's polls is still a tap away, on the + button. Shared links now read as the page they point to, instead of a wall of tracking characters. - Changed: Q&A rooms have been retired. Existing conversations continue as regular rooms.

Links in chat now show a preview card with the page's title, description and image, so you can see what a link is before you open it. You now get a notification when someone reacts to your message in a room or a DM. Tapping that notification opens the chat and takes you straight to the message that was reacted to. Reaction notifications follow your existing settings. Turning off room or DM alerts, or muting a room, silences them too.

UX improvements

- Improved: The People map now shows one pin per country with a member count. Tap a pin to see who's there. - Improved: The map opens centred on your own country. - Improved: Ended calls now show when the call ended. - New: The Notifications page tells you when notifications are turned off for Roomie, with a button to turn them back on. - Fixed: Removed an outdated notice from the top of the map.

Invite friends in one tap when creating a room. New sign-in and sign-up screens.

Private messages, end-to-end encrypted • Your direct messages, GIFs, photos and voice notes are now end-to-end encrypted: only you and the person you're chatting with can read them, not even Roomieverse. • Choose an 8-digit PIN to bring your messages back on a new phone. • Use your account on up to 3 phones, with notifications on each. • Report a room message by long-pressing it. • Creating a room is now one simple page. • Bug fixes and polish.

Pick your username • New accounts now choose their own username when setting up their profile, instead of getting a random one. • "Last seen" times are now more accurate. • Bug fixes and improvements.

What's new in Roomie • Gender on profiles: add yours when you sign up or complete your profile. It shows next to your name and age. • Rooms hosted: see the public rooms someone hosts on their profile, and tap one to join from the People tab. • The People map now opens zoomed out, so you can see more members at once. • Bug fixes and polish.

- New: Pin a message — hold any message in a room you host and pin it to the top, so nobody misses it. Tap the banner to jump to the original, and one tap takes it down. - New: Give a new room its own photo while you're creating it, instead of adding it afterwards. - Improved: Move between Rooms, Q&A and audio with a swipe — the tabs follow along. - Improved: A fresh look throughout — from the welcome screen and the tab bar to chat, polls and room info. - Improved: Creating a room is now a step-by-step wizard, so you settle the name, type and who can join one decision at a time. - Improved: Audio call cards show the host's description under the room name, so you know what a call is about before you join. - Fixed: Anyone in a voting room never showed up as online. - Fixed: A room photo with a transparent background no longer arrives on the room card sitting inside a solid square.

- New: Room hosts can remove someone from a room they run — tap their name in the chat, then "Remove from room". - New: Someone you've removed can't rejoin, and the room no longer appears in their list. - New: Hosts can delete any message posted in their room, so unwanted content comes down straight away. - New: Restore access whenever you want — everyone you've removed is listed in the room info screen, one tap to let them back in. - Fixed: If someone joined your audio room while your screen was locked or you were in another app, they now appear in the room as soon as you're back — and you'll hear them.

Rooms, redesigned — colour now means something: green for someone in the room, red for a live call, blue for waiting messages. Everything else is quiet greyscale. New room cards with depth that follows how active a room is. A new flat tab bar matching Android. Lists scroll cleanly to the last item.
