The referral program has been removed. Invite codes can no longer be shared or redeemed, and the code entry screens are gone from onboarding, the paywall, and Settings. If you already earned free months by referring someone, you keep them. Those months stay applied to your free access period exactly as before. Nothing you earned has been taken away. Everything else is unchanged: new installs still get 2 weeks of full access with no payment required, and Pro is still one annual subscription that unlocks every feature. Also in this release: • Price alerts and the margin-of-safety alert now work during your free access period. They were incorrectly showing as locked, which was a bug: your free access period includes every feature, and these two were the only ones that did not honour it. • Corrected an in-app tip that described a Section 1256 breakdown on the distribution chips. A 1099-DIV carries no Section 1256 line, so that class never appears; the chips show qualified, ordinary, return of capital, and capital gain. We also refreshed the supported funds and coverage pages on marsstudio.app. The finalized year-end 1099 list now shows all 135 funds, and there is a new section covering the five funds where we apply the issuer's return of capital to your cost basis, so you do not adjust it a second time yourself.

Your FIRE date shows its assumptions, and several screens now answer questions the app left open. FIRE. Your income goal has always assumed your distributions get reinvested. That assumption is now a control you can see, and switch off, and it says plainly that your broker performs the reinvestment, not the app. Your existing projection is unchanged. Alongside the headline year the screen shows what happens if things go differently: a decade of flat dividend growth, or a one off cut like 2008. A target out of reach in a scenario says so, instead of printing a large number of years. SINCE INCEPTION. The question a 12% yield actually raises is whether it is income or your own capital handed back on a schedule. Covered-call holdings now show distributions paid since launch, the change in the fund's value, the two together, and the same for a reference index over the identical window. YOUR INCOME AGAINST INFLATION. Income growth alone cannot tell you whether the strategy is working: 6% against 3% inflation is working, against 7% you are falling behind while the number goes up. Your trailing income growth now sits beside CPI, and declines to compare when the rise is larger than dividends can explain, because that is money you added rather than income that grew. SINCE YOU BOUGHT. Each holding reports which of the reasons it scored well on have weakened since you bought. A measure that dipped and recovered is not counted. DEPLOY CASH. Distributions land and the question is where they go. A new mode on the rebalance plan works from idle cash alone: nothing is sold, so no realized gain and no tax consequence. Act gains a row that appears only when a holding is genuinely below target, and a purchase that would disallow a loss you already harvested says so, with the date it clears. RAISES IN. A payer with a regular raise cadence now shows the month and a typical size. It sits beside the forecast and is deliberately not folded into it, because a projection that anticipates raises can be wrong in the flattering direction. DISTRIBUTION COVERAGE, BY STRUCTURE. REITs are now measured on funds from operations and business development companies on net investment income, rather than one cash-flow proxy that misreads both. Partnerships now show no coverage figure at all: distributable cash flow is defined by each partnership and disclosed in its filings rather than in structured data, and the figure shown before charged growth spending against the distribution, so a partnership funding expansion read as overpaying. Better to say nothing than estimate it. DURABILITY. A new Income view puts coverage, return-of-capital share and fund NAV trend in one place, so "will this payout continue" is one screen instead of three. Dividend reinvestment itself is left to your broker, which is where it happens. The app no longer creates reinvestment purchases of its own. Shares already reinvested are unchanged, and your cash and cost basis stay exactly as they were. A rebuilt layout. Act separates what needs doing today from the standing conditions of your book. X-Ray splits into Composition and Risk. Alerts reads as a feed of what happened, with the conditions that inform a decision moved next to them. Forecast went from fifteen sections to six, the detail folded into drawers that carry the number you came for. Anything that moved leaves a pointer to its new home, and every dense screen opens with one plain sentence. Faster. Accounts and Alerts no longer rebuild your whole book while you scroll, and the score and zone change lists show the latest few with the full history one tap away. Fixes: a growth rate is no longer reported against a year in which the account was still being funded, so a young book stops showing an implausible percentage. Market context tells you when a reading is behind rather than presenting it as current. The positions export renames its reinvestment column to say it is historical.

This update is about trust: dates that never shift, totals that react instantly, and tax figures that say exactly what they are. • Trade and lot dates are now anchored to the calendar day you picked, in every time zone. A year end sale recorded in the evening can no longer land in the wrong tax year. • Ex dividend countdowns, pay dates and market days now follow the US market clock, so investors outside the US see the same dates the exchange does. • Buying or selling now updates the account total, forward income, charts and projections immediately, on every screen. • Your 1099 style summary reports taxable accounts only. Dividends in IRA, Roth, 401(k) and similar accounts are shown separately and clearly marked not reportable, with Section 199A REIT income disclosed as its own line. • The withdrawal planner now drains taxable accounts first, then tax deferred, then tax free, and shows the modeled tax honestly even when it is higher. • Wash sale checks now look across all your accounts when you plan a harvest, including replacement buys in an IRA or Roth. • The sell preview and the saved sell now always use the same lot plan and the same tax rates. • Stock splits and spin offs apply once and only once, only to the shares you held on the effective date, and every skipped lot is shown before you confirm. • Portfolio X-Ray now leads with a clear concentration verdict, and income ETFs answer "is the payout real income?" right on the Decision tab. • Total return now includes lifetime dividends, with the basis labelled everywhere. • When data cannot be loaded, screens now say so instead of showing a zero. • Faster Accounts screens and smoother scrolling on large portfolios. • Improved VoiceOver support across charts, widgets and the app lock.

This update sharpens the numbers you rely on and makes iCloud sync more dependable. • Exact corrections: when a covered call fund revises a distribution, your cost basis and realized gain are now restored to the cent on single lot holdings, even after you have sold shares. • Revised distributions now credit the gain you realized on the shares you held on the ex date, including positions you have since sold out. • iCloud sync reliability: saved screens, year end tax entries, corporate action records, and return of capital gain figures now sync dependably across your devices. • Faster screens: smarter batch loading and on device caching across Accounts, Income, and Insights. • Better alerts: ex dividend coverage for watched names, income arrival notices on the actual pay date, and notification taps that open the right screen. • After tax projections for REIT income now reflect the Section 199A qualified business income deduction.

More option income funds are now classified from their filed year end tax documents rather than from in year estimates. Where the two disagree the filed figure is used, which can change both the tax on a distribution and the cost basis carried forward. Cost basis corrections now work in both directions. When a fund finalises at no return of capital, basis that was taken off is given back, instead of only ever being revised downward. Improved tax figures for investors outside the United States. Corrected figures appear for a holding the first time you open it after updating.

Distribution tax figures are now consistent across the whole app. The split used to reduce your cost basis is the same one shown in the Income tab, and a 1099 you enter now corrects dividends you already recorded, not just future ones. Corrected income and reinvestment figures for funds that went through a reverse split. Fund specific tax data now covers 80 funds, taken from issuer filings. Where a fund house does not publish how its income divides between qualified and ordinary dividends, the app now tells you that instead of estimating it.
