Spindle Sunday. Every Sunday, 5–8pm ET, the whole app listens together. A card on Home counts down to it and lets you line up what you'll play. When the window opens, Discover gains a Sunday tab: a wall of everyone's sleeves as they drop the needle, a running count against the night's goal, and a chat. First night is October 4th — the theme is "Something you bought used." Re-Spin knows the album, not the pressing. Before, a re-spin only counted if you and the other person owned the exact same pressing — so two people playing the same record on different presses never connected. Now they do, which means far more records to re-spin and far more twin matches. There's also a "Put it on too" button when you're watching someone's live spin. Random plays what's been resting. Tap Random on Home and it now leans toward records you haven't played in a long time, or ever, instead of drawing blind. It holds back anything you've spun in the last couple of weeks and tells you why it chose what it chose. Find people through your shelf. Discover → People now has an orbit feed: what's being played and re-spun by collectors whose shelves overlap yours, with more variety than the same few faces every time. Likes on your picks now reach you. When someone likes one of your challenge picks — today's or one from months ago — you get a notification, and tapping it opens that pick. There's a new toggle for it in Settings → Notifications. Also: the Re-Spin badge no longer disappears from a spin you edited afterwards; dates show on every row in the orbit feed; and the record picker marks and floats the record you already chose instead of making you hunt for it.

New looks for the visualizer. Swipe or tap a chip to switch between Embers, Groove, Trails and Kaleido while your record plays. Every look records to a clip in your pressing's colors. Flip the sleeve. Tap the featured record on Home and it turns over to show the back cover, with the disc peeking out the other side. Tap Random to draw a different album from your shelf. Trending is now daily. The chart covers the last seven days and refreshes every morning, so there's something new whenever you look. Also: Home Screen widgets now render properly with tinted icons; the All and Friends tabs on a challenge show how many picks are in each; if you own more than one turntable you can switch which one is playing right from Now Spinning; a spin nobody stopped now closes itself instead of showing as playing for weeks; Crate Digging rows reset correctly after a "Couldn't"; and custom discs made from a pressing code or a photo now get grooves in their own color.

Sort your collection. Tap the sort menu at the top of your collection to file it by artist, title, release year in either direction, most spun, or recently added. It remembers your choice. Share the chart. This Week on Spindle now lives at joinspindle.com/trending. Tap share on the Trending tab to send it to anyone, with or without the app. Also: fixed a bug in 1.1.4 that could sign you out with "session expired" while the app checked your wantlist in the background; People who share your collection loads faster and shows a retry instead of going blank; and tall box-set covers no longer stretch the collection grid.

Wantlist. The records you're hunting, synced both ways with your Discogs Wantlist. Find it on your profile. Add from search, from a record page, or by scanning a sleeve at the store. Each want shows how many copies are on Discogs and the lowest price, with a tap through to the listings, and Spindle tells you when one shows up under your price or when a new pressing is cut. Crate digging. A store mode that files your wantlist the way the bins are, alphabetically by artist, with a scanner one tap away. Scan a record and Spindle tells you whether you own it or it's on your list. Found one? Say what you paid and where, and it goes straight into your collection. Done digging shows your haul, ready to share. Eyes out. Flag up to three wants and the people who follow you see them while they're crate digging. If a friend spots one, they tell you the store and the price, you answer Grab it or Pass from the notification, and they let you know when they've got it. Visualize. On Now Spinning, tap the waveform to see your record spin with light and colour that move to the music in the room. Record up to twenty seconds and share it. Now Spinning widget. A turntable on your home screen with the record that's on, the running time, and pause, resume, and stop. Pause and resume are in the Dynamic Island too. Spin-Off on Home. Today's Spin-Off shows on Home until you've played it, and every Spin-Off now has a comment thread under the reveal. Pressings look right. Records made in the Pressing Studio now show the colour and light you saw when you made them, translucent vinyl glows when the record slides out of its sleeve, and the highlight stays put while the record spins.

A better first day. After your collection imports, Spindle asks you to put a few records on display, then shows you your shelf. Until your first spin, Home becomes a picker so you can put a record on and log it. A short getting-started card at the top of Home walks you through the rest and disappears when you're done. Admire someone's shelf. On another collector's profile, tap Admire under their On Display wall. They'll see how many people admired it, never who. Rotate your own wall and the count starts fresh. Challenges, one screen. Past and upcoming challenges now open in the same feed as the active one, with a header that says when it happened, a menu to invite, see details, or leave, and the day strip landing on the last day of a finished challenge. When you post your final pick, your summary card is right there on the Challenges tab. Spin-Off. A daily album gauntlet: two records, tap the one you'd put on, the winner stays and the next challenger steps up, until one is left. Then see how the crowd voted, what your friends picked, and share your run as a story. Find it on the new Spin-Off tab in Discover, and play the ones you missed.

On Display. Pick up to 5 records and put them face out at the top of your profile, like the shelf next to your turntable. Rotate them whenever the mood changes. Old walls get saved so you can look back at what you had up. Share your wall as a story card. Challenges got a big upgrade. The Challenges tab now opens right into today's picks. See what everyone chose, like and comment, and post your own pick right from the feed. Add your own photo to a pick. Show off your copy, your shelf, or your setup. Tap any post to see the comments. Album details are one tap away. Browse other days with the new day strip and peek ahead at tomorrow's prompt. Also new. Press your own record at joinspindle.com/pressing and import it onto a real album in the app. Plus shake to shuffle now respects your filters, and plenty of small fixes.

Challenges, redesigned. The active challenge is now front and center — today's prompt, your progress through the week, and the covers people are picking today. Pick straight from the card. Comments that come to you. Get a push when someone comments on your challenge pick, or when someone joins your live room and reacts to what you're spinning. Turn each one on or off in Notification settings. Multi-disc records. 2×LPs and box sets now show every disc — customize each one's color and design, and choose which disc is on the platter while you spin. The listening calendar goes deeper. Your Stats heatmap now has a full scale from one spin to eight-plus, warming from amber to red on big days. Missing album covers, fixed. If a cover was added to Discogs after you imported the record, refreshing now picks it up. Also: the weekly chart recognizes your copy of an album on any pressing and lets you open every row; albums you don't own now show their tracklist; fresh Re-Spin suggestions instead of the same few albums; and the Now Spinning record feels real under your finger — grooves you can feel, and a flick that coasts.

This Week on Spindle. Discover now opens to a weekly chart of what the community is playing most — see what's climbing and spin along. A fresh Stats tab. Your listening, redesigned: a calendar heatmap of your year, top genres at a glance, an album cover shelf, needle-miles traveled, and "your vinyl palette" of the colors you spin. Discover, reorganized into Albums and People, so finding records and finding friends each have a home. Notification controls. Choose exactly which alerts you get.

Identify a record by ear. Drop the needle, tap Listen, and Spindle recognizes what's playing and logs the spin — from the Home screen, the add-a-play screen, a new home-screen widget, or a long-press on the app icon. Share cards, upgraded. Now Spinning and daily-challenge shares now show your record sliding out of its sleeve with its real custom vinyl — color, splatter, picture disc and all. Top Genres. Your stats now break down your most-played genres, all-time and for 2026. Plus a turntable speed check on identified spins, and fixes throughout.

• Pick your cover — when making a Challenge pick, you can now choose any of the release's Discogs images: back cover, vinyl label, gatefold art, you name it. • Tapping someone's pick now shows their actual custom vinyl design — splatters, pinwheels, and all — instead of a plain black disc. • Color-in-color vinyl now displays your saved inner-color size everywhere, and it syncs across devices. • Fixed spin reminders that weren't being scheduled. • Assorted under-the-hood cleanup to keep things fast and reliable.

Now Spinning Info tab — tap any spinning album for its bio, release details, and tags from Discogs, Last.fm, and Wikipedia. Twinning — see when you and another listener spin the same album, with a chip on the History tab. Share cards — generate a sharable card for any spin to post anywhere. Vinyl variants — tri-color and color-in-color (smoosh) added to the pressing picker. History filter — narrow your history to records tied to a specific connection. Performance — pull-to-refresh no longer hangs on large collections. Widget — medium Random Covers no longer overflows. Plus stability and reliability fixes underneath.
