Hotspot Meter lives in your Mac's menu bar and shows exactly how much data you're using – in real time, on every network you connect to.
It's built for anyone on a metered connection: phone hotspots, hotel and café Wi-Fi, travel routers, or any link where every megabyte counts. Glance at the menu bar for live download and upload speeds, open it for per-network totals, and get a native notification before you reach your limit.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Hotspot Meter runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing is collected, stored remotely, or transmitted. Location access is requested for one reason only: macOS requires it to read the current Wi-Fi network name, so usage can be grouped per network. No location is ever stored or shared — and the app still works without it (networks just appear as "Wi-Fi" instead of by name).
Lightweight, native, and unobtrusive - it sits in your menu bar and keeps count.

New: Hotspot Meter now auto-tracks any network it hasn't monitored before — Wi-Fi, tethering, or mobile hotspot — the moment you connect, so nothing slips by uncounted. It's a separate toggle in Settings, alongside the existing hotspot auto-track.
Also new: three paid menu bar themes — Terminal (green CRT glow), Dial (an analog gauge face), and Aurora (a dark gradient). Unlock any of them with a tip, and preview each live before committing.
Improved: History's reset is now two options. Reset clears a network's usage counter but keeps it listed; Reset & Remove also takes it off the list. Available per network or for everything at once.
