I’ve been waiting for an app like this since I started diving…in particular the weather forecasting and the marine wildlife finder! Accurate weather predictions are really the backbone of a successful dive trip and DiveSight does it better than other apps I’ve used. Finally having the ability to build a list of all the sea critters I’ve encountered is a game changer for me. What a comprehensive and vital source of ecological data I now have at my disposal.

Lots of features and cool data aggregated into forecasts. The forecasts seem accurate so far for my local sites and looking forward to testing them abroad on an upcoming trip. Could be a game changer for dive planning and logging.

The forecasts are the hardest part of DiveSight and where most of the work goes: billions of satellite and ocean-model data points, run through models wevalidate against actual conditions. It's still a forecast, so it won't always be perfect, but hearing it held up at sites you know is exactly what we worked so hard for... and how we keepmaking it better.

Really impressive detail from the pins in the explorer tool. Really excited to plan some dives at spots in Lake Huron that I learned about from like 30 seconds navigating in the map feature.

NEW: 3D dive site maps! See the underwater terrain before you dive. Over 10,000 sites now have interactive 3D maps, including 2,400 in high definition (with more on the way!). Rotate, zoom, and pan across the seafloor, and use the compass to match your bearings underwater. Maps for your favorite sites can be saved for offline use. NEW: Visibility alerts. DiveSight now tells you when the water near you is forecast to be unusually clear, so you can better plan your dive for good conditions. Plus, a quick look at the site closest to you is now right at the top of the home screen. NEW: Dive sites near you can now be ranked by visibility or overall conditions as well as distance. NEW: Quick entry to Your Sealife List to make marine life logging even easier. NEW: Location filter in the Wildlife Finder so you can explore all the creatures you might see in a given place. NEW: A how-to guide on the home page to help you get more from DiveSight. Plus performance improvements and bug fixes.
