Yalta Chess brings the legendary three-player chess variant to iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Three sectors, ninety-six squares, three armies — played with the full Yalta rules.
It plays like real chess, only with a third opponent at the table. Castling, en passant and promotion work as you expect, and the first-check rule decides who wins when a king finally falls. Threefold repetition and the 50-move rule are handled too, so every game ends exactly the way the rulebook says it should.
WHAT YOU GET
• Authentic three-player engine — the complete Yalta variant, faithfully implemented.
• Five bot levels — from a gentle Beginner to an Expert that calculates up to eight half-moves ahead. Each level was measured stronger than the one before.
• Opponent move preview — see where an enemy piece can go before you commit to your move.
• Pass-and-play for three — one device around the table.
• Local multiplayer over Wi-Fi — three devices on the same network, with automatic reconnection if someone drops, and chat on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
• Online with Game Center — invite one or two friends (with one friend, the third seat is a bot or someone next to you), or let Game Center find opponents. Turn-based: play your move whenever you like.
• Achievements and leaderboards — 28 achievements and 6 leaderboards in Game Center, entirely optional.
• Keep your games — save them as Y-PGN, reopen them later, share the final board.
• Native on every Apple screen — iPhone, including iPhone Duo; iPad; Mac, with menus and keyboard shortcuts; and Apple TV, with a cursor you drive from the Siri Remote's touch surface.
• Choose your pieces — classic or steampunk.
• Steampunk by design — a wooden hex board, copper accents and careful typography that feel like a real heirloom set.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No ads. No tracking. No account required: play offline, alone or with friends around you. Online games, achievements and leaderboards go through Game Center, only if you choose to use them.
