Payload Forge is a powerful macOS utility designed for developers, QA engineers, and backend testers who need to validate APIs with dynamic, real-world data. Instead of manually crafting requests or writing scripts, Payload Forge lets you generate, modify, and test JSON payloads with precision and speed.
Start by entering any valid JSON payload. Payload Forge automatically validates your JSON and parses it to detect every editable field—even deeply nested objects and arrays. Each field is mapped using a clear path structure (such as user.email or items[0].quantity), giving you full control over complex request bodies.
For every detected field, you can define its type and behavior. Supported field types include string, number, boolean, date, email, UUID, and null. You can also assign generators to automatically produce values during test execution. Choose from fixed values, unique emails, random names, random numbers, current timestamps, UUIDs, or custom “one-of” lists. This makes it easy to simulate real user input, edge cases, and varied datasets without writing any code.
Payload Forge introduces structured test cases that allow you to validate API behavior under different conditions. Each test case lets you override one or more fields in your payload using precise JSON paths. For example, you can set a field to null, inject invalid data, or change specific values to trigger validation errors.
For every test case, you define the expected HTTP status code and a piece of text that should appear in the API response. When you run your tests, Payload Forge automatically generates the payload, applies overrides, sends the request, and evaluates the response. Results are displayed in a clear table showing the test name, actual status, expected status, pass/fail outcome, and response content.
This workflow allows you to quickly verify validation rules, error handling, and API responses across multiple scenarios. Instead of sending one request at a time, you can run a suite of test cases in seconds and immediately see which ones pass or fail.
