Plural Star is a private, offline-first system management app built for plural individuals, those with DID, OSDD, or any form of plurality.
Made in part with AI assistance, which is one of the main reasons we went Open Source. So that anyone wishing to, or with concerns, can examine the code.
Simply Plural and Octocon are being discontinued. Plural Star is the replacement you own entirely; your data stays on your device.
Features
Three-Tier Front Tracking
Track Primary Front, Co-Front, and Co-Conscious. Each tier has its own member, mood, note, and energy level (1–10); Primary also tracks location. Members are exclusive to one tier. Set all three from a single modal with a searchable picker. A persistent notification keeps all tiers visible. Optional front-check reminders.
Friends & Syncing
Optional end-to-end encrypted networking — off by default; the relay sees only encrypted blobs. Add friends with short mutual codes and see their current front live. Link your own devices: choose which sends the first copy, then everything syncs both ways, pictures included. Pin up to five friends into the persistent notification — on iOS, on the Live Island.
Member Profiles
Profile pictures, 900×300 banners, names, pronouns, roles, colors, rich-text bios. Full Markdown editor. Freeform tags and colored groups with multi-group membership. Filter by group, tag, or search. Sort six ways. Tier badges display when fronting. Archive dormant members: history preserved, restorable anytime.
Observatory Mode
Observatory Mode turns Plural Star into a Manual Status Tracker and Journaling App, with a rebuilt UI for the Singlets in our lives, while granting them access to almost all the App's features. Ideal for non-plural friends, family, and caretakers.
Custom Fields
Define your own per-member fields — eight types from text to Markdown. Reorderable, renameable, exportable. Imports from Simply Plural custom fields.
Mailbox
System-wide mail between headmates: per-member inboxes with unread badges, quick replies, and pinning. Syncs across linked devices.
System Polls
Polls the whole system can vote on. Vote tallies, voter tracking, optional closure. One vote per active member; changeable until closed.
System Map
Chart relationships between your headmates on an interactive force-directed graph. Start with an empty canvas; members join as you create relationships.
History & Insights
Front History: timestamped log of every switch, organized by day, with co-front and co-conscious tiers inline. Member History: every session, mood/location/note change, energy level, and authored journal entry per headmate, with totals. Add retroactive entries with three-tier support and overlap detection.
System Statistics
Total fronting time, session count, and message count with time-range filtering. Expandable leaderboards for fronters, co-fronters, co-conscious, chatters, moods, and locations. Peak Hours chart shows when your system is most active.
System Chat
Local-only IRC-style chat. Up to 100 channels. Speaker is independent of who's fronting; chat doesn't affect front or history. Text, image sharing, replies, emoji reactions. Archive channels to free storage.
System Journal
The same rich-text entries with full Markdown as in member profiles. Tag entries by author and topic hashtag. Optionally lock individual entries or the whole journal behind passwords.
Import & Export
Import full system data from Simply Plural, PluralKit, Octocon, Ampersand, Ourcana, HiveMind, & PluralSpace. Export as .zip, HTML, or email summary, with per-category toggles for what to include. Import .txt, .md, or .json files directly as journal entries.
Medical
Medication reminders, appointments, medical history, and emergency info in one Hub tile — in both system and Observatory modes.
Multilingual
17 languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Suomi, Norsk, Italiano, Türkçe, Bahasa Melayu, Tiếng Việt, ไทย, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, Русский, and Українська. Auto-detects on first launch.
Added localization for Nederlands, Íslenska, हिन्दी, Afrikaans, 한국어, Svenska, & Polski Languages. Various fixes for Imports, Custom Fields, Accounting across the app, & misc.
